My question is how to ship from FL to UT. Have it shipped or fly to FL rent a SUV and trailer it yourself? I have a truck but don't want to drive out there and all the way back. Opinions please.

RE: Who has shipped a boat?
I had a boat shipped from St. Louis to Sweetgras MT (border crossing). Went off without any problems. Simply went to uship.com and placed a job out there. Shippers bid on the job and I selected one with lots of positive feedback which was slightly more expensive than the cheapest bid. It works kinda like ebay with feedback. I could even forward info to you on the gentleman that did the job for me, very reliable, even stopped several times and put the cover on and off when it rained.

One question would be if you need to look at the boat with your own eyes before you close?
If so, fly out...test drive and tow it back. Take a friend or two and rotate drivers. Three drivers and you might not have to stop to sleep. You could probably average 1000 miles per day.
I think shipping might be over 3 bucks per mile. It was 4 bucks in 07 when I got a quote....with 4 dollar fuel.
For a quote, I think you can go to ebay motors or to boattrader and click on one of the ads for shipping.

I just had a quote from uship for 1550 miles for 850. That was the low number by about 100 dollars. Most were about 1100. It really depends on common routes for drivers. Some drivers might have a load going in one direction and your return load would be free money for them. Florida to Utah does not sound like a common shipping route, but I'm no expert. Up and down the East Coast is pretty cheap. It never hurts post on Uship and see what you get. You don't have to accept any bids.

My first vote is go get it yourself. Road trips have been a part of all three of my late model Nautique purchases. My Python came from NoCal, and I did not even consider shipping it. 2100-2200 each way. Flying out and renting a vehicle to tow it back is going to be hard to pull off. I looked in to this and you likely need to rent a straight truck to do it. Hertz, Enterprise, etc do not rent vehicles with hitches. My second vote is get the number of the guy Skiinxs used. You have a reference, and know that the guy cared for his boat properly.
Good luck !the WakeSlayer

I hired a boat transport company. They towed it from Walnut Creek to the Seattle area. Bill Mann Transport. Of the quotes I received when I priced it, the others were middle men who would farm the work out to independent contractors. Bill is the owner / operator and very professional.2010 Super Air Nautique 210 Team Edition

I bought my boat sight unseen (pictures only), but it was brand new with full warranty so I wasn't concerned.
paid ~1200 to have a guy drive it from Pennsylvania to texas. the shipper was so good, called every 4 hours. very professional. I felt like friends by the end of the journey.
good old frank, I'd recommend him to anyone.

I bought my truck sight unseen 42000 miles big lift. Drove it home from Atlanta I think it was like 1800 miles still have the truck and no complaints.
But I had a Ford Diesel enthusiast look at it for me the guy offered to really nice of him. I sent him a gift card for $50
However I would love to see it but maybe I will round trip a flight and have a referred person ship it.
