    Flight Clips fitting tower

Hey guys, found some flight clips yesterday, the ones that clip to the tower rather than bolt in, for a reasonable price and I am supposed to pick them up tomorrow. However I do have a question that I thought someone on here would probably know the answer too. I have a 2001 SAN and I want to be assured that these will fit my tower. The seller did not know exactly what year boat they were off of but is there any possibility that they would not fit?
    Thanks

Are you talking Year Model 2001 or the actual boat hull model is a 2001??

Here is a pic of my boat I tried to get one that had the tower cross-member so you can see where they mount. The Flight Clips mount to the Oval shaped tube. You have 4 of these cross-members on your tower, one on each side and 2 on the top. Your tower should be exactly like mine - All FCT towers except Gen 1 (I believe the 1998 and 99 models) have the oval cross-members for mounting the flight clips

I just got a pair as well that I am putting on my Gen 2 tower. Any suggestions on spacing and placement?

Thanks for the picture. Yes the year model is 2001 and your tower looks like mine. Those clips should work fine on that cross member. Thanks for the help.

Flight Clips are awesome. Extremely easy to load and unload. There is only 1 caveat with them (that I know of). When placing them on the side cross members like shown in the picture 3 posts above, do not put closed toe boots on the inside racks. Your bindings will not fit quite right and you can get an indentation on the toe. Open toes should work fine. I just make sure I load boards with closed toes on the outside and open toes on the inside (or wakeskates). If anyone out there has flight clips attached to the side cross members and does not have this little problem, please post your placement measurements. Thanks.

I actually put my board on the inside so it rests on the boots rather than the edge of the board. Over the years my clips have definitely damaged a few of my boards along the edge. i think they look the best, but other racks are more functional in my opinion. With that said I just bought some flight clips for my new boat because when I pull into my slp they keep my boards off the cables the best.
