There is a guy out in Maryland that has a 318 RH for sale. Here is a link. He took this engine out of a 69 Nautique he parted.
He is a good guy, I got a couple parts off him for my 68 SN project. At least it is on your side of the US. Shipping may be a pain, but not much else you can do. He links a video of it running, I think on a crate, but I was unable to open it when I tried.

Good luck ! Send more pics. It would be nice to figure out what that boat really is.

I suppose it could be a second generation Ski Nautique, but that would be closer to 1971!

I thought of that, would have to be right around that year. Which would make a lot more sense with the engine.

Pylon and motorbox sure look to be CC pieces. Windshield and hull design sure look like very early 2nd gen Ski Nautique to me (70-71). Why is everyone so eager to call it a MC?

I have been uncertain as to what it was the whole time.

I was thinking it was an older CC as well, one thing is it sure does not look like an 81', windshield and Hull look like an early 70's as TR mentioned, just not sure about the transom, hard to see clearly.

Well...looking at brochures on ccfan...the CC windshields up to 71 are one piece like that. From 72 on, they are flat plat with frames.

OFF TOPIC: check out this bikini girl surfing behind a 66 (what looks like) Inboard/Outboard.

In the early 70's they started putting Hull ID numbers on the transom, just below the rub rail on the starboard side. Prior to that, at least on Correct Crafts, the HIN or really SN was on plate on top of the port stringer near the rear of the engine.
I still am nost sure on what your boat is. I see the similarities on the MC too, but couple tings on that pic make me think that is not right either. Pylon, the small tunnel on the bow deck, the raised lip around the entire cabin of the boat.

Still not convinced it is a Nautique. Looking at the 71 brochure there are a lot of differences, rope bar on the back, no hood scoop. CCF is missing ’69 and ’70 brochures.

Being he lives in the VI and said motors are hard to come by, could have already been replaced.

                        What is the hull number?

I think we are trying to help with the engine but you threw us a curve when you said 1981. If it is a Nautique its 1971 or older.
