My guess 69. 70 had scoop on deck, 68 had different motorbox.

Not that it really adds much to the thread at this point, seeing as how we know it's not an 81 SN, but..... Not all 81s had the 351W. I've got one of the few with the chevy 350. Just an FYI.

Not necessarily true. The 350 was an option, starting sometime in the late 70's, I believe.

My 350 came factory. I've got all the documentation on it. The Dallas Ski Club ordered it that way. They used the boat on the circuit and wanted some extra juice. It also has (as my sig says) the anniversary options. Chrome windshield, side gunnels, "wood grain dash", etc...

Now that I believe to be incorrect. If youve got a LH engine, then it was replaced at some point. The only direct drive CC's that swung LH props in the last 40 years were the very rare HO 454 boats of the 80's. Every Chevy Ive seen from that era was a righty, just like the Fords.

After going and doing some research (Got my PCM Service manual out), I do have a right hand rotating engine. For some reason I was thinking when looking at the engine's front, if it rotated ccw it was standard (probably from working on airplanes too long!).

I stand corrected.

However, the engine IS still factory.

That makes more sense.

As you probably figured out, the LH vs. RH marine convention is taken with respect to the rotation as viewed from the REAR of the engine- not the front.
