    New Skins from christines...need foundations.....HELP!!!

    I am getting new skins from Christines for my 91 ... I would like to replace all of the foundations with plastic like all of the new boats so I wont have to bother with rotting wood anymore....does anyone know where to purchase these....???

      I would think that any HDPE plastic would work as long as it was thick enough. I would search for a supplier for a sheet of it, but I bet it will be expensive!

        The newer boats (at least my 99) uses a product called "starboard" for what you are talking about. You can find it and cut your own (probably with a router), but I do not think it is cheap.

        Scott, when you get ready to do the upholstery work, look me and DavidF up. We both just went through this and have some tips (well... I'm almost done anyway, DavidF is done).

          Yep, "starboard" is what I would use. I believe it costs somewhere around $8 to $9 per square foot. The trick will be how to heat and bend the board to match original (such as stern seat cushions on my '99 NSS).

          SGIND: What boat do you have? I am also surprised that all the seat "boards" are not plastic already. Do you have any "bent" cushions currently?
