Correct Craft Sold???!!!

I just had a long talk (is there any other kind) with Woody at Southeast. He told me Correct Craft was sold last week? Is this true? What is up with that?

I own a Southwind 20 built when Correct Craft was oversaw by Ralph himself. I have met Greg Maloon. What is going here? have the bean counters lost there minds?

Woody has been around a long time, and has a lot of friends at CC, or Nautique, or whatever they call themselves these days.

Woody works for Southeast Marine. Southeast Marine WAS Southeast Correct Craft owned by one of the Meloon family. Woody has been around Correct Craft's almost as long as Ralph Meloon himself. I know of no one better qualified to speak on the subject of Correct Craft in the boating industry than Woody. He has supplied with countless information concerning the history of the company, as well as, the history of my boat - a 1974 Southwind 20, M440B equipped - than anyone else I know (with the exception of Watercraft Sales in WI). He was recommended to be by John at Watercraft Sales in Three Lakes, WI, an original Correct craft dealer.

so he left secc and went to south east marine? i have met him and he is a super nice dude and knows his stuff, but he told me he's not that great with efi engines. however they did mess up the closed loop install and sold me a trailer with my boat and the wheel fell off the next day. luckily it's tandem. on a better note, they did come pick it up on a flat bed and pay for everything to be fixed, on the trailer.

Close. Southeast CC is now Southeast Marine. Mr. Meloon was forced to give up the CC name as he is no longer a CC dealer. As for your experience, at least they did their best to take care of you after the wheel incident. I am not familiar with "closed loop" install. Are you talking about a closed cooling system? I wonder what happened. They are usually pretty knowledgeable. Did they make good on it?

I can say with 100% certainty that Correct Craft has absolutely NOT been sold. I am not sure how this rumor got started, but according to Bill Yeargin himself, this rumor is not true.

Tonali has confused his dates. Old news, he just mistakenly thought it was last week. We were all aware of the Meloons selling much of their interstests a while back, Southeast CC out of the CC business, etc. BKH

and woody is still a cool dude!
i saw a pic of him on ccfan. they had a weekend trip down the st. johns where everyone brought out their nautiques. and woody was there with a pimped out mc. it made me kind of sad.

Woody played along and was more than welcome in his MC. He brought lots of goodies for giveaways, and he provided the tunes for the lagoon while we were on St John's. One of the nicest guys you will meet.

true that! woody is old school and SO cool! have you seen his truck? LOVE it!

we want to make it next time you guys head out down the st. john's. my husband brings it up often, and i must say, it really isn't his thing. however, it is mine! :mrgreen: so you'll have to let me know next time you guys are plannin' sumthin'.

i understand that a job is a job, but to me with a thing like these boats it's kind of sad that someone would go from "nautiques are the best" to "mastercrafts are what you want" it's kind of like flip flopping religions

Sooz, there will be another CCF reunion there in Feb. Not sure if I can go next year, I have a wedding I need to be at in AUS that weekend. It was a GREAT time. So cool to meet all the folks you know from the web in person.

Gride, Woody has been in the business for almost 40 years. What is a man supposed to do when something changes that dramatically, that fast? He stayed with a Meloon, not with a company no longer owned by the Meloons. Secondly, I am not so sure that what Woody thinks has changed. He just gets his check from a different company.
