    Wrap a 196

Has anyone wrapped a ski 196? I have an 08 196 that i primarly use in a private ski lake with extremely hard water. Im thinking if i wrap the boat, I can save on some cleaning time. Also I would like to spice up the graphics as well . If anyone has any pics of wrapped 196 please share!

Not sure what you mean by wrapping. I've got a shipping cover for my '04 196. It's basically a felt lined plastic cover that wraps pretty tight to down under the sides. Boat can still sit on trailer or bunks. You have to jack the boat off the front trailer roller so you can move the cover over the front winch strap eye. Paid $50 for it used from the dealership. Works well for long road trips. Kind of a pain to put on while on the trailer...but would be good if you're on a lift. Wraps nice and tight. My dealership used it to transport boats to and from the boat shows.
    Peace..

Funny website. Although that company does nice work, I find it odd the only boats I see wrapped are MC, ok and Sea Doo (one in the same). Shouldn't the company take the hint people think their boats are plain and people are covering them up.

Personally, I love the look of my boat and all other unwrapped boats. I remember a person in Knoxville who spent 90K on a MC and 9K wrapping. His comment when we were looking at it was. “I don’t like the plain MC look and this will help”

Rod - wrapping your boat is going to cost some cash. You can hire a lot of teenagers to scrub the bottom and help more people and the economy. I pay a kid 25 3 times a year to scrub the bottom. 35 and he does a hand wax below the rub rail.

I agree that some of those wrap jobs are pretty wild, but whoever is doing them is very talented. I've considered wrapping as well, although not to some of the extremes there.

I disagree with the comments about MC graphics. IMO MC has some of the better graphics in the industry. Check out the prostar from the link below. I saw this model and graphic in person at the Denver boat show. In person, it looks killer!

Do you have to have a skull, dead people fetish to own a mastercraft? That is kind of sick. I never see one without skulls. I wonder if they can do one with women's toes for my 211.

there's quite a few on that website without skulls, i'm pretty sure.

and i should clarify my comment earlier... the artist who did those wraps did some amazing creations/images/drawings. i wouldn't put one on a boat I owned, but the graphics are pretty darn good.

don't say the only boats you see that are wrapped are mc's. that wear it cc has one, byerly has one, etc. there is a different company i spoke with, i think you can find their name on wakeworld in the archive who do much better work than those ugly mc wraps. depending on how detailed you want it they will work with your ideas and make up a couple renderings. the more involved you are in the design specifics the more costly, up to 3000$ but as low as 800$. i think it's a great idea for anyone with a brand new boat.

Never wrapped a ski boat, but we have wrapped a couple of race cars. Those graphics on that MC page are average. There's much better stuff out there. Give Phil at RageWraps a call. His prices are generally around $3500-4000 for a full wrap on a race car and he has done some incredible stuff that I've seen.
