    Spring 2 Summer event info

Spring 2 Summer, Alabama’s largest wakeboarding contest, is almost here and I wanted to get some information out to everyone about registration, schedule of events, and the Hyperlite demo day.

First off, the Hyperlite demo day will be from 11-4 on Friday June 5th in Spring Creek. Jeremy Baker will be there with his entire Hyperlite inventory to demo. There will be 15 first come first serve spots available for demo of boards/bindings. If we do not fill all 15 spots before Friday you will be able to sign up that day for any remaining spots. This will allow each group of 3 people 1 hour to demo.

Friday evening will be the premier of “Who?” by Dirtbag Productions at The Boondocks. If you were at the S2S contest last year this is the same place we held the rail jam. The premier will start sometime around 7:00PM. This video will showcase riders you may or may not heard of from Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Canada, and parts in between.

Saturday June 6th in Spring Creek will begin the Spring 2 Summer contest. Riding will begin at 9:00AM sharp. The running order will be as follows: Outlaw (1st round), Wakeskate Beginner, Wakeskate Advanced (1st round), Advanced, Women’s Beginner, Women’s Open, Masters. If we still have enough time in the day we may also try to squeeze in 10 & Under Boys/Girls. We will still be accepting late registration for each class that morning, but registration will be closed 1 hour before each class running and will end at 11:00AM. Later that evening will be a rail jam demo at The Boondocks starting around 5:00. Riders for the rail jam will be by invite only.

Sunday June 7th in Spring Creek will begin the final day of S2S beginning at 9:00AM. The running order will be as follows: Outlaw (finals), Wakestake Advanced (finals), Beginner, Intermediate, 10 & Under Boys/Girls.

For those that will be staying through the weekend, Holiday Inn is our host hotel this year located on your left just before the Spring Creek causeway. The room rates are $85.00/night and all rooms are facing the water. Each room has a kitchenette with a microwave, mini-fridge, and small prep area. There is also a bar & grill located at the hotel. There is also several other places to stay in the area and many great places to eat. Their phone number is 256-582-2220.
Hotel info can be found here: http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hotel/gunal

Registration forms for The Spring 2 Summer contest can be found here: http://wakefactory.net/events.html

All participating riders can pre-register for $30.00 ($5.00 for S2S shirt) or the day of for $40.00 ($5.00 for S2S shirt). Non-riders can purchase shirts for $15.00 each at the event. Pre-registration fees will be taken by check only payable to Wakefactory P.O. Box 486 Guntersville, AL 35976 Checks or cash will be taken at the event.

There will be a few food and drink venders at the event both days as well, but as mentioned before there are many great places to eat within minutes of the event and many fast food places. We hope to get as many people out this year as possible to help make this year's event even bigger and better than last year.

    Jason,

I have a few questions for you about the event. I see you said start time on Sat will be at 9am, how late are you expecting it to run? Is the premier and rail jam at Boondocks an open event or invite only? And what about coming in by water? will it be OK/plenty of room to anchor or raft up within site of the riders?

I'm not familiar with Spring Creek, I do know hwere the Holiday Inn is though. From water I would be coming to the Holiday Inn from the main lake and then going under the bridge?

Chris, the start time both days will be 9 and we plan on running till about 5. The riders for the rail jam are invte only, but anyone and everyone is welcome to spectate. The video premier is for everyone who comes to the Boondocks.

Spring Creek is the body of water to your right if you're driving over the last causeway up towards Boaz. If you know where the Holiday Inn is, Spring Creek is just across Hwy 431 from it, so yes go under the bridge besid ethe Holiday Inn and your in Spring Creek. There will be plenty of room to anchor up and spectate for boats. We plan on trying to get a few markers in the water to mark the rider's course and all boats can anchor up putside of that. We don't want any boats to anchor between the shore and the course because it will block spectator views from shore.
