    211 Ballast Report!

Thanks to posts by Mikeski, Clubmyke, Noti_Dad, Jonfo, Fast 351, SuperSquirt, Slayer, Fatboy and others here, I have totally dialed in the wake for my 211.

In WB magazine (Feb 2009 boat buyers guide), it stated that the SV211's 625# factory ballast was divided into a 292# belly tank and 166.5# x 2 rear tanks, which works out to a 47% front / 53% rear distribution. Suggestions here are for 40% front / 60% rear. Notably, WB mag states the 210 is factory 39 front / 61 rear, and the 236 is 37/63. So here we go. What I learned is that Mikeski's suggested half or 3/4 full on the belly with just factory full port and stbd tanks makes a 40 / 60 for a 211. Wise man. (Congrats on the twins!)

Adding more ballast to arrive at a 40 front / 60 rear set up, here was the setup this weekend: Full factory tanks + 200# in one of the Sacs SuperSquirt sold me in the ski locker and 400# of pop bags split between the aft lockers (no loss of storage in lockers). 492 front + 733 rear = 1,225# and a 40 front / 60 rear split. And the wake just kicked A$$!

On to surfing. Empty stbd, full port and belly and 200# sac in the ski locker. Moved 3 pop bags from stbd to the port locker for 8 total in port. FIlled the second 350# sac SuperSquirt sold me (thanks dude) in the aftmost section of the passenger side storgage (flip up seat near the walk thru step). Big green curl and plenty of push, no wash. On these runs, crew consisted of: The Admilfral and our 2 offspring and me, so with a couple more crew, probably no need for the second sac. More later.

Again, thanks to all here on PN for helping me set up and enjoy this awesome machine!

Glad to hear you got it down....I finally dialed my 210 by splitting 2500lbs 55/rear - 45/front.

Dude, haven't you heard. You must trade in your 211 and get a real wakeboard boat to get a true wake to ride. Something like the 220 or so. You can't get a wake out of this boat!!! The best rule is to always be on the edge of purposing, I always fill all back ballest then fill front until it stops. Enjoy.

Update on Surf Wake: Put the 350# on the port walk-thru with one or two pop products bags in the port locker and the other 8 or 9 pop bags under the flip up seat. Also had factory port and belly full and 200# fatsac in the ski locker. Moving the 350# sac to the walk thru allowed it to be filled more since the sac is a 17" diameter and the clearance under the flip up seat is only 9".
