Difference in SPORT wake?

Is there that big of a difference in the wake between the 89-92 sport nautiques when compared to the 93-97s?

I am trying to find a budget wakeboard boat that is open bow. I know the later models have fiberglass stringers which is a plus but they are also a lot more expensive. Is this even an issue if the boat has been cared for properly?

Hi AUTaco, I have not been behind the newer Sports but from what I have heard they are really similar if not the same. I have a 90 sport and the wake is great I run to 450lb fat sacs on each side of the motor is far forward as I can and it gives me a really nice wake. The only thing that is really nice about the new sports is the removable swim deck mine is molded and water likes to come up over the back if you are not cafefull when stoping.
