    Bimini mounting

My bimini top came with sheet-metal-style screws for attaching to the boat. Seems to me that through-bolts and nuts, with a large washer on the back side, would be more secure (albeit a PITA to install). Does it make a difference?

the sheetmetal screws work fine. I've never had any issues.

My 216 is the same and they stripped out. I tried a bigger screw but that interferes with the bimini mounting post. Anybody got a quick tip on how to fix the hole so i can use the smaller correct screws?

Saw somewhere to use the tip of a Nylon zip tie. Worked great.
