Yes, unfortunately this is true. I e-mailed David today to find out what was up, and he verified that they will not be reopening that location. The fire, on top of a very difficult economy for boat dealers, led to this decision.
Their B/G location is where I bought my first boat, so I am sad to see it close. They are going to concentrate more on their White Lake location and their other satellite location at Belews Lake.
On a better note, they have offered all of the employees at the B/G location positions at White Lake. That's something not too many businesses would do, so I give them a ton of credit for that.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. That is sad. I spoke with Diane a couple of weeks ago to get a speedo and new tach to replace my digital ones (Teleflex) on my 2002 196 and she never mentioned they would not be reopening. She did mention that the place still had a fire smell to it even after working on the back.
I had my 196 serviced by Ken in April at the location but he had to take it to his house to work on it. Great service, nice people. Awesome dealership to deal with.Comment

I know Belews has a number of boats in inventory. I have not stopped by there dealership yet but it seems like a nice location. I live in Greensboro and have gone to Belews 6 times in the last month. Nice lake with two courses set up but not much skiing can be done during the weekends. I am going to try and get out early Saturday and see if the water at the courses is decent enough to ski on.Comment

David definately confirmed that the Burlington Store would not be reopening basically due to the economy and poor boat sales.Comment
