    Gas Splling out the vent

I was reading the thread about the gass getting in the Vent when Surfing. It made me think of somthing,

I have a 02 air. When I fill my gas tank I notice that I have over flow spilling out the vent when I drive to the lake. So I did 3 things.
    1. I installed a One way valve from the gas tank to the vent.
    2. I never fill my tank completely
    3. I always fill my boat with gas as close to the lake as possable so I dont have far to drive with a full tank

The problem is Im still get gas comming out the overflow, And it messes up my pinstripe tape because the gass comes out thevent and runs down the side of the boat. I have had to re-do it 3 times now.

We've got the exact same problem and haven't figured out what to do yet. :? We were wondering if we were just doing something wrong, but glad to hear we're not the only ones with the problem. Where do you get your pinstripe? We need to rework ours.

I have a similar problem on my air, except that it is my gell stickers that are messed up. The gell on them has yellowed due to the gas staining, and some have peeled off. i have learned that when you fill, you open both tank fills, so that the fuel does not spew out the vent line covering me with fuel, and also go slow and don't use the automatic cutoff on the pump.

I, likewise have had the same problem with my '02 Air. When I communicated the problem with CC, their suggestion was to only fill the tank 3/4 or so full. It must be some sort of design flaw.

I've experienced this same problem on my friends X-Stars so if it is a design flaw, it doesn't seem to be specific to CC.

I have had similar problems on previous Nautiques, but so far the '04 SV-211 seems to be working fine. I don't have fill problems and have not yet noticed leaks around the valve. Seems like they always improve with every year and every new mode.

I can remember on my 1989 Ski that it would be impossible to fill with any kind of pressure from the gas hoze.

You car order the Pinstripe threw your local Car Paint supply store anywhere they sell automotive type of paint will be able to order it.
The pinstrip you see opn my boat is from a company called CAL STRIPE they have a cataloge at the store with all the collors and thicknesses,

When I bought my boat they included extra pinstrip in the information packet check your to see if yo have any extra

I was doing a search trying to find the striping online to order and came across some other pin striping that seems promising. Its 3M Scotchcal and it "Resists gasoline and chemicals." I read one of the .PDF's on the site and it said that gas should have no effect on the stripe. Here's a link: 3M Aftermarket Automotive I know some people that work in 3M automotive so I'm going to check with them and then have them pick me up some to try. It may be a little while, but I'll let you guys know how it works.
