    financing

Any tips on marine financing? I got a bid from one bank at 6.5% - but they wanted $400 in closing costs?? Any and all ideas are welcome. Thanks much - John

Is that from a bank you currently bank with? If not, you might check with your primary bank.

The bank I received financing through didn’t charge me any fees since I already banked with them. They also trimmed off a ¼ point for having the monthly payment withdrawn directly from my account and an additional ¼ for having more than one account with them.

Negotiate the loan just like any other product. However you will not be successful in bargaining with a bank unless you have A+ credit.

Your deal sounds ok if you can get rid of the closing costs.
