Hey guys, new guy here. Got a couple questions for ya. After, really briefly looking over a new 04 Super Sport late last wk, I decided to get it, and don't know much about it's full features set. My questions are, does it have ballast tanks, and if so, how long does it take to fill, and empty them? Also, does it have that trick speed control device that holds constant boat speed? Sry for the apparent ignorance  and I'm sure the marina will go over most of this stuff with me in a couple hrs, but I thought I'd pick your brains 1st. Thnx!

Limited package doesn't include the tanks, but it is availible as an option. There are many limiteds w/ ballast tanks... You can check by asking your dealer or just simply looking in the rear storage comptment. If the floor in the rear storage place is slanted at about a 45 degree angle, than you have the tanks. If the floor is deep and flat, than you dont.
Also, you can just hold down the buttons that say "belly ballast," "port ballast" and "starboard ballast", if the lights on those buttons start to flash, than you have the tanks. If they don't than you don't have the tanks.I Nautique, therefore I am.

Have 2 whole days under my belt, now have another question
A couple of times now there's this annoying high pitched "beeeeeeeeep" sound coming from the boat, and I cannot figure out what the heck it is. Once we counted it repeating every approx 17 secs. Sort'a comes & goes. Any ideas? Is it something to be concerned over? fyi, I have a depth finder.

Does your digital display in your tach show SHALLOW and flash red when it is beeping? If so, you are setting off your shallow depth alarm. You can change that by using the up and down arrows by the display.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Thnx Jeff,
To tell you the truth, I've been so busy trying to maintain a 16 mph boat speed while my son learned to wakeboard, that I never noticed any warnings. Your suggestion makes sense, and I will take a close look next time. And, thnx for the settings change help too. You guys are great!

Shyone, how old is your son? 16 MPH would seems like it would be way way too slow. (as in acctally haveing to really fight the boat to stay above the water) I would speed up to say 18-20 mph just to see what he does. Unless he is uber young. How about \"Chales\"?

I would suggest that 16 isn't that fast for a beginner. Until someone learns to hold an edge, that slow speed is a good way to learn. I have even pulled people slower than that at times. A 19 mph faceplant for a beginner can ruin their day in hurry. When I work on my surface 180 and such, I have the driver slow down to 14 or 15 mph...
I am not an advanced instructor or anything, so take my advice with a grain of salt....88 Ski Nautique

Shyone, you can also turn off your depth finder. If you are not familiar with the area, be very cautious when you do this if you were planning on the depth finder to save you from running to ground.
From the owners manual:
Depth Sounder Function
To display depth information on the LCD push and release the M
until the display shows the depth. The depth sounder is turned on
and off with the ignition switch. The depth sounder can also be
turned off at any time, while in depth display mode, by pressing and
holding M while the depth sounder counts down a three second
delay.
The depth display will then indicate “OFF.”
Press and hold the M to turn the depth sounder back on.

I’m going to have to agree with Dragon on the wakeboarding speed issue.
If you try to teach someone by pulling them TOO slow it will actually hinder them much more than it will help. If your son is really young, that might suffice, but if he isn’t, you should definitely consider bumping it up into the 18-20 mph range. That will get him on a plane slightly faster and make the water firm up a little, making it actually easier to ride. I usually teach people to ride at 20 -21.5 mph if they are older the 10. Younger than 10 I slow it down to around 19.
And if definitely sounds like your depth alarm is set too shallow.

Hey, Thnx for the informative replys everyone. My kid is 17 and 150lbs. If I go much faster, he indicates he wants me to slow down. He's never done ANY watersports before this boarding, and is pretty shaky right now. Now, he did get up on his 1st try on day 2, and did much better than on the 1st day. Heck, he hasn't even crossed the wake yet  I think I will try turning off the depth finder, if only to see if that's what's beeping. I should probably set the alarm to another ft deeper, don't you think? Any other tips for a newbie wakeboarder or boat driver? (this is my *9th* boat, (3rd Nautique), but 1st time pulling a wakeboarder)
Here's a shot of the kid on day 2:
