    Shyone,
as a adult beginner this year, I can agree with both on speed... it is much easier to get the feel of how to manuever the board at a slower speed. However, if you go to slow and start to drag, you can catch an edge a flip just the same... he looks like he's doing well and could adapt to the 20mph pretty easliy. On a different topic, I recognize the boat and the marina as I looked at the same on a few weeks ago (assuming I'm correct and you are at the Wawasee Boat Co.)... I ended up ordering an SV211 and it's killing me to wait for it! Don't know how familiar you are with WB Co. but I thought Dave and Doug were extrememly helpful and spent considerable time helping me to select the right boat! Good luck, and nice looking ride!

      Shyone,

Great looking boat! You will have a lot fun with that one

I spent a week with my boat on Lake Cumberland and I had the beeping noise ALL WEEK  I knew it was the depth finder that was warning me of deep water, but I did not know how to turn it off.

My normal boating area doesn't go deeper than 30 - 40 feet so I had my deep water warning set somewhere in the 50's. First day out on LC the beeping started and I tried to set the warning level higher and quickly found out that the max is 99'. LC exceeds 100' in most of the main areas of the lake so when we were cruising the beeping would go off and I would have to hit one of the buttons to reset the depth finder. I spent most of the time cruising with one hand on the throttle and the other hand on the steering wheel and the depth finder.

My first day back I pulled out my instruction book to figure out how to turn the deep water warning off.

BTW -- On my depth finder I have to set the deep water warning to zero for it to be turned off.

        SocBum,
Ok - Dumb question - Why do the new boats have a depth sounder that warns you of deep water?
I put one in my 84 and I set it at 4' warning so I don't get too shallow.
Am I reading it right? If you set it at 99' and you're in 91' of water it will beep?
