SN 200 - Questions for Bill Yeargin & Andy Mapple

As most of you know, Nautique released information on the new Ski Nautique 200 this morning. We have been given a unique opportunity to have our questions about this boat answered by two of the people most qualified to speak about it - Bill Yeargin and Andy Mapple!

Check out the boat here, and then post your questions for Bill and Andy. If you're more comfortable sending your questions directly to me instead of posting them here, you can send me a PM by clicking here.

The questions MUST be in by Monday morning at the latest, as that's when I will be in contact with Bill and Andy.

This is going to be an awesome boat, and I look forward to hearing what Bill and Andy have to say about it.
I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

RE: SN 200 - Questions for Bill Yeargin & Andy Mapple

First of all, the boat looks awesome. The lines are great and 100% Correct Craft. Hats off on that one!

My question is hull design. Traditionally Ski Nautique hulls have had very little in the way of lifting strakes, I'm assuming because of the canoe-shaped hull that these boats have traditionally employed. I've loved the freight-train tracking of the previous Ski Nautique models. If lift was added to the hull as mentioned in the video, what was done to retain the tracking and handling characteristics that we know and love?

Secondly what are the differences between the closed bow and open bow models? Is there just a hole punched out in the deck? I've always admired the lengths CC went to create the old SNOB models, pushing everything back to get a little more room up front while retaining minimal bow length on the CB model.

Again, awesome job on the boat. Can't wait to see it in person.

I assume that the Ski Nautique 200 is taking over the 196's place, thus discontinuing the SN 196. Can you please confirm this.
Wonderful boat, I wish I could buy one, but I'm only 16.

Would you like to give me one to test out for the next couple years? I promise I'll be really good about taking notes and giving feedback. Also, a 210 SANTE would be great.
Great looking boat! Given that the wake is the "same" between the open and closed bow, which model will be used to pull tournaments? What's the weight difference between the current 196 and the 200?

Also, we were talking the other day about how neat it would be to have a section of rail (almost like a grab handle for a handicap bathroom - about 18") on the outside of the boat, which you would attach a ski rack (like a wakeboard rack) to get skis out of the way. Also having it designed as a strenghtened point to the hull to which you could attach a boom, so it was all outside of the boat. I don't know if that makes sense, but maybe you can use it. Just a thought for the RD boys.

Are we going to be able to get more pictures? I have been able to watch the YOUTUBE video yet, being my company blocks Youtube. What are the dimensions? Width? Is it a liner boat?

What other models are making the 2010 cut?

Do you expect a tower to become a preferred feature...even for boats used in a tournament (e.g. MC 197)?

                  Closed bow version's weight?

                  Open bow version's weight?

Will 206 also be discontinued or still offered in 2010?

                  Thanks in advance!

Is there going to be an option for the tradional Ski Nautique graphics, or is the boat in the video typical of what will be offered. There are a lot of people who cling to the traditional graphics.

Looks amazing from the video...! Can't wait to see...congrats to your engineering group.
                      1) What are the trim levels and subsequent dash / operator interface options?
                      2) What about horsepower and powertrain (XMSN & prop) options?
                      3) Seating / weight capacity for OB?

                      Thanks,
                      JJ

First of all the boat looks fantastic congrats guys..
Can you tell us more about the storage in the boat how does it differ from the 196?
Have any scientific comparisons been done on the 200 wake compared to the 196 ie. how does it compare to the 196 in height, softness, width.
Are there different dash options through the range SE Limited and Team

                        Cheers Steve

Some of the questions that I have have already been asked but these are the ones I would like to ask:

                          1) Will the 196 be discontinued?
                          2) Rumor has it that the 206 will not be discontinued, will it, now or in the near future?
                          3) Are there weight differences between the 200 OB and CB? In the video Andy mentions there are none.
                          4) Will there be an option for the "traditional" gauges on the dash? If so, is the link system standard on a particular trim (LE perhaps) and optional on the SE and LE?
                          5) What engine options will be available on the 200?
                          6) Will the SN200 have a retractable pylon, tow-ring, or any attachment that was meant for pulling, either as standard or as an option, available at the stern?

Will the traditional center stripe gel lines be an available option?

Can we see a picture of the view from the driver's seat. In the video, they say it's an improvement over the 196. In an open bow, that'd be quite an accomplishement.

                              I caught that too...

The hype on this boat is crazy (better wake, sight line, storage, etc.)...hope it delivers.
