I have a 02 SANTE and i need a place to store a paddle or Oar. I have a wood one i can cut the handle down. Any ideas. I have a belly hard tank so that option is gone.
I use to put mine in the cutout(under the grab bar) on the port side .. it would just slide in along the gunnel area. I never needed it but had one just in case. I was asked to see one when being pulled over by the lake ranger here in Texas.
When we took the Coast Guard Axillary safty coarse we were told that a ski is acceptable as a paddle. Since we always carry at least one ski I never carry a paddle.
An oar is required in OH, if you get pulled over for an inspection the fine will remind you to pick one up
I keep the oar, dock pole & four noodles along the starboard side. All of the items tuck in along the starboard side behind the panel beside the drivers seat and the rear passenger seat.

Crap, I don't remember reading anything about needing a paddle in Texas? I mean they do not require a spotter or people being pulled to even wear life vests here... but they require a paddle???

I keep mine in the storage under the front seat. I know a lot of people have subs in there, but I took mine out and had the sub built into the seat that had the largest ice chest so I would have the extra storage available.
