    1996 Super Sport

    Not sure if this is the correct forum. Am new to the site.
    Need some help...Have friend who wants to sell his SS wants 20K.
    This is what I know
    800hrs. regular maintenance and care (has records)
    tower and racks
    balast belly and rear, 4 pumps
    new trans 2008
    perfect pass 2006
    Custom made trailer, tandem 2004, no rust
    all fresh water, new skins 2008
    gelcoat good shape no cracks
    Stereo, cd etc


    I think 20K may be high. anyone have thoughts?

    Without seeing the boat it is hard to say if it is worth 20K. What I would offer is that you can find 96 Super Sports in good condition for a price lower than 20K. BKH

      Correctcraftfan's price index for 1994-1996 Super Sports is $19.5-$23.5, three boats in this index. Not sure if these sales figures represent the current state of the economy.

      My advice to your buddy is to put it at $19.9 so it gets caught by the sub $20k searches and see if he gets any takers. As BKH suggests, it's tough to tell without seeing the boat.

        Thanks, I have seen the boat and will post pics next week. I was more concerned about the 800 hrs on the motor. But it seems strong and the local dealer who services it says it has great compression. You have been a great help.

          I don't believe they started making Super Sports till 95 Mike. I looked on boattraderonline. There was a 85 for 17,900, and another for 18, 995. I believe there is a fellow on this site with a very nice 95 in Texas, and if I recall he was asking 18,500. I have seen some listed in the 15 to 16K range, but they needed some cleanup.

          Poprawks, I don't know if you are trying to buy the boat, or if you are trying help your friend sell it. If I were trying to buy the boat, I'd be looking in the 18K range. For 21 or 22K I've seen some 2000 models for sale.

          All depends upon how many boats in your area, how far you would have to drive to find one, etc. BKH
