my anecdotal evidence is listed here:

i have even more experience since then, and am even more rooted in the Excal fan club. the big engine just isnt a good value. 5.7L (excal) and ZR6 share the same stroke, only the ZR6 has a slightly larger bore. there is not an appreciable amount of difference in the bore to lend to a significant difference in performance. both are outfitted w/ heads and camshafts that lend to low RPM torque. the major advantage the ZR6 has (i think) is VV timing, which broadens the power band...

The 6.2L has a longer stroke and would give you an appreciable amount of performance gain from a torque stand point.

the final question you have to ask yourself is this: would CC let a boat leave the factory that is an under performer? if you are buying a CC, then odds are you dont think so. i would say to save yourself the cash and buy the correct prop, which you will end up doing either way...
