    wakeshaper on the new 210s

i just took my 2009 210 out today for the 1st time and although i am in love w/ the boat coming off an old hull 210 i couldnt get used to the wake. i rode w/ all 3 ballasts full and just a driver today and the wake looked not small but not big either, but the pop was bigger than it looked. my question is what to do w/ the wake shaper. just from fooling w/ it for today, i think i liked it on 1 (w/ the hydro plate up i think) , but it seemed the boat would kinda bounce a little. what do yall do w/ it. any advice going from a old 210 to a new one?

pull it back towards the rear of the boat - makes the wake steeper and gives it the lip on the top of the wake. If your bow is bouncing add more weight to the bow.

What Migs says. To the back.
The wake needs to get used to. You have more time when you ride upon the wake, so take the time and ride off the complete wake!!

also coming from the old 210 wake, but love and like the new 210/230 wake!!

just got back from riding all day. i had 4 people in the boat and the wake was pretty big w/ just the 3 stock ballasts. im curious as to why they didnt add a bow ballast to this boat. w/ just the 3 stock full and the wake shaper back, the bow would steadily bounce. it was a sunday, and it was really busy on the river. i bet on cleaner water it wont bounce as much.

how do yall weight ur new 210s??

oh, and still loving this boat.....it is a head turner for sure......not really missing my old boat.

This is how I use the hydro gate, in the full forward position only when starting, this helps get the boat up on plane a little easier and faster. For all riding, I run the lever in the full back position which I find gives the best shape, and lip. Adding weight only to the bow and without consideration to the rest of the boat will only make the wake more mellow. I find toggling the hydrogate lever back and forward will eliminate any porpoising when it happens. On our last ride out I ran full factory ballast + 10 peeps and the wake was Killer! Congrats on your new boat.....

thanks beaven. thats kinda what we were doing. when the boat would bounce we'd move the wakeshaper to the middle position and it would help.
like i said it was really busy yesterday on the water and im hoping when we go today in clean water the boat wont bounce as much.

also, does the hydrogate always go back to the back position when you come to idle?

Hey no probs, your boat shouldn't bounce at all in clean water and it's ok to leave the hydrogate lever back when idling. I only push it fully forward to help get the boat on plane easier.

The bouncing or porpoising is a direct problem with zero off .They finally excepted this and are re designing their antenna, which I heard should be ready shortly.

Don't know, When I was having this problem zero off was blaming CC for poor hull design and CC said it was zero-off defect. mid May CC said zero-off admitted it was their problem and it was in their antenna. We put perfect pass with the paddle wheel and that completely stopped the purposing no matter how we weight the boat . another friend that has the same problem tried to get CC to switch to perfect pass but they would not even talk about it but said they would replace with new antenna, that was two days ago will it work, recall, I think its too early in the game.

since you're on a river make sure the zero off is on current mode.

Kind of off topic but does anyone have any follow up on the improved receiver for Zero-off that could eliminate the porpoising? It can be a pain when the boat gets into that mode and while shifting the hyrdogate from vert to ramp then back to vert again normally takes care of it... we shouldn't have to deal with that. It definitely is caused or greatly enhanced by Zero Off since it goes away if you manually hold speed ... turning the Zero Off.. off. As others report, it doesn't happen with Perfect Pass either.

I met someone with a new 210 last weekend and they had the same problem with porpoising as every one else, we took out the zero off and replaced with perfect pass ;corrected the problem ,He was sent a totally new antenna, dose not even look like the old antenna and said that fix the problem. since my perfect pass woks so well I want ask for the new replacement antenna to put zero- off back in.

Can I ask how he got the new antenna? Did he call ZeroOff support directly and did they supply it free of charge? They should as it is a real issue. We noticed the issue does not happen when you manually drive to a speed or hold a specified rpm.

Well, it porpoises a bit when you hit a roller but stops ... I think the ZeroOff just prolongs the agony since it is trying to overcorrect.

As I recall ZO has never really worked well in a river, but mine works fine on a Lake, no porpoising problems at all.
