Ok, forgive me I am anal...lol

Before the start of the season I completely detail the entire boat. I start by washing the entire boat with Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo, inside and out. I then use the Esquisite cleaner on all of the seats followed up by 303. I then dry the boat off and start buffing the outside with the Porter Cable 7424 polisher. Since I have kept it brand new, I use Poorboys Polish with Carnuba for dark finishes with an white pad. I then use the Poorboys EXP sealer and follow it up with the Wolfgang Fuzion wax on top of it. Then I use the Poorboys Quick Wax (basically a hand quick detailer) to maintain the boat the rest of the year. Then after I pull the boat out of the water, I wipe it down with the Poorboys Spray Detailer, every time, even at night.

There's a few people on this forum who know me, but Nautiquhunter can tell you about what my boat looks like. I can post pics as proof if you would like. But like I said, I am anal. I actually do a complete detail on my boat once a month from May till October. I also 303 the interior about once a week. One last thing, depending on the color of your boat, please use Microfiber towels for polishing and waxing, and Microfiber waffle weave towels to dry it. I can't stand to see someone use an old dirty beach towel that has been on the sand or dropped on the ground to wipe their boat down. They have no idea how bad they are scratching their boat. All of my crew knows not to even touch my boat with a beach towel. It just cost a little more money, but it goes a long way to maintaining your boat.

Rugdr.....you sound like me with my other toys. After detailing the tower this weekend (a little Blue Magic metal polish got it shining better) I noticed that the carpet looked a bit matted down due to my flip flops. I've asked the wife to pick up a carpet brush today so that we can keep the nap in better condition.

Anal?!?!? HAH!!! You have to dry off on the platform before you can get in
my Nautique. Yellow_Flash_Colorz: No shoes of any kind allowed.

EVERY outing, wiped dry with BeadX.........then when I arrive home, I get on my creepy crawler, and from the bottom of the trailer, yes the trailer itself, to the top of the wind shield. I use Formula 113 cut with water. A heavy plush towel, finished off with 3 microfiber's sandwiched together, and 303 on EVERYTHING inside. EVERY SINGLE TIME......oh, and the same goes for the engine and bilge. Yes sir I'm certifiably Yellow_Flash_Colorz: !!!!

I also use the Hot Sauce from Boat Bling. Works great on the water line and also smells good.

Interior I use the Vinyl Sauce followed by Aerospace 303

I do the dry off thing on the platform too!! I didn't mention it but I too get on the creeper for the underside of the boat. My only disadvantage is the dual axle, so I only go as far as I can reach, but that is only for the first detail of the year. After that, I only wax what I can reach bending down on my knees under the boat. And yes I too wax the trailer....gosh we are sick! But I tell you, it sure makes a difference if and when you go to sell something. Your time eventually pays off, although I enjoy doing it.

rugdr is the master. I thought I was anal but I am only a student. I bought all the Poorboys products the dr recommended they work as he said . I especially like the wheel sealer I have 18"chrome wheels. I applied 3 coats on them and now nothing sticks . Yes I do wipe them after every use along with the trailer inside and outside the boat. It takes two of us 30-45 Min's to leave after we are on the trailer. I think I got the Nauti Flu.

I get mine at the West Marine store.

Most dealers should have it. Wally World and others generally won't.

Got a question for you 'Anal' guys...Do you have kids? Just curious. Sounds like what I would have done before the family. It turns my stomach some times at how dirty and wax free my truck is now.

Yes sir!! A beautiful 23 yr.old daughter, and a soon to be 16 yr. old son. Both wicked smart, and all around great kids.

As for being anal/picky.......did you see the Clint movie Gran Torino? That was my FIRST car. Absolutely identical right down to the color's and motor. How's that for a first car. Yellow_Flash_Colorz: I made the payments myself. My parents taught me to take of what I have, and you'll enjoy owning it, and have an easy time selling whatever it is you have.

As for my show cars, they are NEVER driven in rain, or at night. Heck, even the Nautique doesn't leave the garage if there's a big chance of rain.

                      Umm..........yeah I have kids!! Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

                      Regards to ALL!!

Yep I have two kids. My oldest is 11 and my youngest is 2. It's kinda funny really because they both have been taught, even at a young age, what they can and can't do on the boat. It's to the point now we don't even have to say anything anymore because they just know how to keep it clean. I must admit though, I do have two great kids!

I am with you on the ramp routine. It takes us about 30-45 minutes to leave too, between the wipe down, getting every thing unloaded from the boat and loaded into the truck, it is a process. Especially when you get off the lake at 9:30 at night, do all of that, and then have to head home and unhook. It turns into a long, but fun night.

We are still there wile others come out tie down and leave. We always make it a habit to set the boat up to go back on the water. That means clean and fluids full . I have one advantage though I have a 42x64' pole barn.
My tow vehicle is locked to the trailer all summer when we get home I just pull the whole rig in and close the door .

                            Not that's SWEET.

I've gone the flipside this summer, at least the past few weeks. It takes me minimum 30 minutes to get my boat in the garage, so I've left it in the driveway with the cover on it for easy access. It's tearing me apart between protecting the boat and using it.

Some good ideas here. I'm pretty anal about my boat too but I have 61 hours on the 2009 already and it hasn't been washed yet. No need when your lake is perfectly clean and it's wiped down properly after use. I do have a clean large garage where I let all of my seats air out so that goes a long way to keeping it looking like new. After our next long lake camping trip the 210 will get the full service detail similar to what rugdr does.
