I am the one that posted that picture. Scary ****. a glass fiber fire is very scary. The thing exploded. and inside 10-15 sec. there was 4 meter flames, all over the boat. Had just put in about 60L of petrol. the boat burned for about 45 min before it was put out. But yes it still floats. The club will get there new boat on saturday. A 2005 ski nautique. No they did not have any insurance.

My first post on this site. Which is really good. it has helped me a lot with my privat nautique.

update. Just bouht the GT40 engine of that boat. complete with transmission, manifolds. the complete powerplant. the fire was in the back/ fuel tank. after cleaning etc. the enigine looks like new. have checked it stil has comprision, and should be started up soon in the garage, just to be sureit all works. Damm melted glassfibre is a bitch. had to trow away the wiring and hose etc. But still only payed 200 USD for it. and i have a complete spare for my own boat. not that i need it. Maybe we will put it in a old car, just for fun ;-)

Mazza, did you take pictures of the process? Post them if you did. Great "before - after" story.

Just a little update on this story. The engine is going into this old 1950 Ford F6 Fire truck, my friend has bought. to replace the old original Flathead V8. The truck will be lowered to the ground and get modern truck tires etc. A project very much just getting started.

Will be build into a small tour bus, every frame in the body is made out of wood covered with metal. Need to be a carpenter to fix this car up. luckily it is not rusted ore rotten.

has only 40.000 Km since 1950. That´s less than 1000 k per year.
