230 special edition at the 50th masters.... ?!

Someone have nice pictures of the boat ? I saw it today at my dealer i want to know it there is one one 230 made or they just have another one like it? The boat have all the 50th logo in the bench and everything. Its like a yellow metal flake boat but i didnt see the metal flake on the tower and on the trailer maybe i didnt noticed, and i didnt see the signatures on the platform as well.

There was only one made. I never did get any pictures, but I did check it out while I was there. Pretty cool boat! My wife got to spend the whole weekend riding in the boat filming the pros. I never even got to ride in it!

so this boat is not brand new, my dealer should not sell me full price like a brand new one right ? how many hours it should have on it ? if its not the metal flake trailer that i have with it i should ask for a credit ? what would be a good price for that boat you think ?

Its brand new until its titled actually. If it has demo hours on it that is fine. Most boats get test driven or demoed before they are purchased. This of course is assuming the hours on it are reasonable. How many hours did it have?

That is a special edition boat. I would expect to pay more for that boat than a regular Team Edition 230.

Yes this is the boat we are talking about, we are talking about 110k canadian for that boat so around 91kUS. I dont know how many hours on it.

I was there on Saturday during the Masters and took a few shots. Got as close as I could get as I didn't have a pavillion pass. You guys need to go if you've never been. Watching it live on the web just isn't the same. I did catch some of it Sunday as I was still waterlogged from the trip home sat night. Great job Jeff!

I talked to JD Webb at the Knoxville PWT stop and asked him how he weighted his 230. As best as I could recall, he said he puts one of those 1200lb triangle bow sacks under the floor in the front and fills it as much as possible, then puts another 1200lb triangle sack on top of the seats in the bow. Then he puts an 800lb belly sack in the walkthrough area, then two 550lb sacks on the floor behind the driver. Then he removed the factory hard tanks from the rear lockers so he can fit two 800lb sacks in each ski locker.

Do the math boys, that's somewhere around 6k lbs.

That's just plain stupid! Stupid crazy... not stupid dumb. I will be plumbing in a 750lb integrated bow sac under the front seats, a 400lb or so locker sac, 300lbs lead in the nose/walkthrough and two 750s on top of the rear tanks. My math puts that about 3K + stock which I think is almost crazy and will be overkill for me. I have had several confirmation from 230/236 owners that this config should work well at 23.5 @ 80ft.

It also confirms my theory from my little experimentation that these boats love weight in the nose/walkthrough. Of that ~6K that JD has, it sounds as if he has more weight in the bow/walkthrough than in the rears. He "ONLY" has 2700lbs in the rear. :shock:
