Seems like a pretty uncoordinated marketing plan - to release a video and have a big splash and blog entries about it and then go dark on it for several weeks. Seems like they could have held off on the big intro and blog discussion until they were ready to follow it up with their marketing plan to keep the buzz going. Then they wouldn't have to worry about supressing the pics - viral marketing can be as good as the marketing plan sometimes.

Yes, I'm with LT206, I don't understand the marketing plan, I think they loose a lot of hype if the don't show beautiful pro pics of the boat but I'm not a marketing expert.
I'm tired of searching the waterski pages trying to see the boat. I was very interested beacuse it's time to change my 196 and I need an OB for my growing family...

Hehehehe... It's odd that there's all this buzz about the boat and no additional pics... and then everyone's asking about it and talking about it wanting more and THEN THERE ISN'T ANY AND... AND... AND... BUT I WANT MORE!!! The tension is almost palpable... It's almost as if a well thought out plan is laid at my feet and I can't escape wanting more!!! I am with Jeff. Marketing is often about hype of a product, get the interest "a buzz" and then let it cook for a bit. When it does finally hit the market, I don't think that CC will have any problem getting the 200 to fly off the shelves., "recession" or not!

Marketing is black magic (I'm an engineer -- and I hate those guys) and for those of us expressing impatience to get a look, it doesn't make a lot of sense. However, from the manufacturing company's business point of view, introduction of a potential revolutionary industry innovation as this 200 is made out to be is absolutely critical. Believe me, CC knows what they are doing.Peace..

After seeing a number of pics, I think the 200 may take some time to grow on me. These may be knit-picky things to me, but things that may make me stay with my 196. I've never cared for gauges being placed to the right of the driver's line-of-site, like some auto companies have attempted. I like the dash pod directly in front of me, and I don't think it impedes one's vision. I'm perfectly happy with the view from the 196. The driver will need to look down and right to view the new pod. I also like the forward windshield on the 196, which allows me to hang my hand off the side to feel the breeze and an occassional water splash. Minor, I know, but it is just something I really like after coming off of years of MC ownership. The ski lockers look like huge targets for dings and scuffs, being that they are not covered with upholstery (which is much more forgiving). Plus they just look like they steal too much interior space. Naturally, I'll have to wait until I walk around in one to know for sure. I also don't personally take 6 slalom skis with me when I head out. To be fair, when i was an MC guy, I didn't like the new look of the PS190 when it came out in '87, but it grew on me. I guess I'll wait and see, but I'm not placing an order sight-unseen.'08 196LE (previous)

I still don't know. The idea that you have to remove the back seat to get at the floor storage is annoying. The saddlebag storage looks to me to make the inside cabin of the boat a lot smaller, I would much rather have the rear locker, it was a really nice large storage space. I wonder where they relocated the gas tank? It is no longer under the back seat.1997 Ski Nautique

If most people remove the rear seat (like the do now in both the 196 and 197), then people are just going to be stubbing their toe on the floor storage.
If they made the boat wider, why not just expand the trunk storage and fit skis in that way?
Is there enough room for a skier to sit on the transom before putting on their ski?
I don't get the whole "faux" teak look - doesn't work for me.
I gotta see the saddlebags in person...at the very least they need to rename that feature - when I hear "saddlebags" I think of chunky chicks with thunder thighs.
