    Can't decide on a 2000 Air Nautique

    Hello,

My question is that my daughter is really getting good at Wakeboarding so we are looking to upgrade to a 2000 Air Nautique. Currently I have a 1997 Sport Nautique and LOVE it but as it does not have the tower or ballast we are looking to move into the next category. Here's the question:

Should I keep the 1997 and add a FCT tower or sell the boat and purchase a 2000 Air Nautique?

    Any thoughts?

My buddy has a 92' Sport Nautique that he added a tower to. We weight it down and the wake is very good, I often say that my abilities will never surpass what that wake has to offer. His boat is great and I am thankful to have it, but we both drool over the prospect of a SAN and are watching and waiting for a the right one to come along and when we think we can finance it.

If the boat fits your budget and you and your family get the use out of it, then why not right?? A 2000 San is a really nice boat, lot's of storage, and you can add weight to it and create a monster of a wake.

On the flip side, if you don't want to finance more and can come up with a couple grand for upgrades on your boat, you will have a great wake for your daughter to progress on. Adding a tower, board racks, and some ballast bags will improve the wakeboarding on your boat tremedously as well as get the boards off the floor and the rope out of the way. The tower will also add value to your boat should you ever decide to upgrade to a SAN anyway, you won't lose on the tower investment. Boats with options will sell faster than those without.

Check it out, maybe this will help you make your choice.

I would go for the 2000 Air Nautique. Storage is much better and your daughter will never outgrow the wake. The factory ballast is decent but you can throw a sac in the rear locker and one in the ski locker and have a wake as good as any SAN, with all your ballast out of the way. Drain all the ballast and you still have a decent ski boat. The 2000 Air Nautique is one of the most versatile boats ever made. I love mine!
