    211 or 210 and 196

    Currently we have a 2007 SV211 Team
Love the boat but do not like the ski wake so we are considering getting 2 boats - the 210 for the kids and a 196 for me
Is the wakeboarding wake much different on the 210?
What are the advantages and disadvanatges - I have heard different stories...
I have heard the 210 is better than the 211 in rough water which we would like for the cruising days.
Or should we be thinking 220 or 230 for wakeboarding and rougher water cruising
The other option I forget about skiing and switch entirely to wakeboarding
    Comments??

Yellow_Flash_Colorz: How serious are you about skiing? Either real serious and by the 196 or not serious and ski behind the 210 (or whatever you get)

We talked about doing something similar except we were looking at a used Nautique for skiing and a Chapparal 264 Extreme. Perhaps not as good wakeboarding but really great for cruising. In the end we choose to stick with the KISS principle and be happy with the 211 - which we are. Good enough skiing for me and others, good enough wakeboarding, good enough cruising, only one boat to take care of and carry insurance on, store, moor, etc.

I convinced my buddy to buy a nice older ski boat and helped him get a great deal on it. I maintain his boat and have full access to it whenever I want. If he wants to go boarding we take my 211, if we want to go skiing we take his boat.

I kept my 211 and load it up with ballast when we go riding. It works great, never had a wake complaint. Just remember, it's always easier to make more wake than less.

That's a good point. That is why I went with a 206 for my small kids. I figured (when they need it) it can load it up w/bags. If they get too good for that...their sponser can buy them the boat the need

I suggest that you do something like Mikeski. I share my 220 with my buddy and he shares his 196 with me. I can't take the big wakes on the Air Nautiques when I want to slalom, but the 196 won't hold my daughter's varsity volleyball team. So we have the best of both worlds!

I had the same issue, only it was my 15 yr old son that turned out to be a big slalom guy. Who'da thunk? I kept the 211 and bought a mint condition 95 MC 190 Tournament edition with 270 hours and a customized tournament trailer for $15,000. That is one cool little boat, and many say the best slalom wake ever. Closed bow boats are being given away these days. That being said, we have a three stall dock...so worrying about which boat to put in the lake is no issue.
