Wake Surfing - Interesting Way To Start

Stumbled across this on Youtube and thought it was a cool way to start on the board. We will definitely have to try this next time out. I predict epic fail, but also epic fun!!

That's the 360 bridge in the background (Lake Austin).

that's a huge wake, even with 1,500lbs on top of the factory ballast my 211 is not close to that wake. I can slide off the platform into riding position without the rope but no way I could do the paddle in. He generates tons of speed off that wake before popping the board up in the air.

I'm definitely no expert on wake surfing, surfing in general, or making a wake surf with my 211, but the video looks like a blue screen production. The camera is WAY too steady, among other things.

In general it's really easy to put the weight too far back. I am putting more weight in the middle and front of the boat than I did at first. If you are getting too much white wash at 10+mph you are probably heavy in the rear.

Just watched Justin's video and it had the same 'effects'. Maybe it's not fake (doubt Justin's is)

                paddle in

We have been paddling in for the past 4 years. My daughter and her friend both paddle in staggered and ride the same wave. My daughter is goofy, and her friend is regular foot, kinda ride staggered on the wave too. I will see If I can find old video of the two. My wife can paddle in also, but I have to use a somewhat longer board to do it. You just need a nice big freakin wake and drive somewhat a straight line towards your rider, the wave catches them so the paddling and pop ups are easy.
