    Trailer Guide Pads

What is the purpose of the trailer guide pads that I see advertised? Is it just to improve the appearance of the trailer or does it help getting the boat on or off the trailer.

I don't have these pads on my trailer and the rub rail of my SN makes a squealing sound as it slides against the hard plastic guides of my trailer.

    thanks

My boat doesn't squeak when loading and unloading, and I like the looks with the exception of they tend to sit high or low on the pole. I think of it as a little more protection for the boat.

Just put yourself in your boat's shoes (or hull for that matter). Would you rather have some hard abrasive plastic rubbing all over your body, or some nice plush foam wrapped in soft material with the advertisment of your choice on it, treating you oh so well??

And I would skip the "advertisement of your choice", as over time (i.e. when the silk screening starts breaking down), that will start putting white marks on your rub rail.

My wife bought some new ones as a gift for me. She got the wrong size. They are much longer than the ones that come with the trailer. I love it that way. you don't see any of the pvc at all. Doesn't matter how far they go down you don't see the top of the pvc. Looks much better.

Sweet. I'm gonna look for these when mine wear out.

I ordered the longer ones for my trailer, like you said it covers the entire guide and IMO looks much better than the shorter ones.
