    1999 Super Sport Ballast Install

I figured I would post my install even though it incorporates many ideas that were copied from other installs on this site. Maybe something I did will help someone else considering an install. Plus, "wake_fun" asked me to post almost every time we spoke.

I want to thank all that helped answering my questions and especially “wake_fun”, “bchesley”, and “davidf”. Without their help this would have been a much more difficult task.

I have been planning this upgrade for years and finally got around to getting it all done. I chose to go with three pumps and a two rear bags and one center bag in the ski locker. Here is a list of the parts I used in my upgrade.

    • Fill and Empty Thru Hull Strainers – Factory Nautique one offs made by Buck Algonquin P/N 3430
    • Ball Valves - Buck Algonquin P/N 00BBV75LP
    • Hose Barbs – Groco Ύ to 1 inch full flow
    • Above Water Thru Hulls – Factory Nautique Ύ inch stainless capped
    • Pumps – Three Jabsco Ballast Puppy pumps P/N 18220-1121
    • Rear Sacs - Fly High Fat Sacs W707 on both sides of engine
    • Center Sac – Fly High Rear Seat Sac W705
    • Hose Connections – Fly High W743 and W746 for input hoses from pumps, and W737 and W742 for overflow hoses
    • Hose Clamps – AWAB 316 Stainless Steel Hose Clamps
    • Fill and Empty Hose - 1inch Shieldsflex II Water Exhaust Hose
    • Vent Hose – Shields 141 Ύinch HD bilge hose
    • Power Wire – Ancor Marine 1/0 gauge
    • Fuse Box – Blue Seas Systems ST Blade Fuse Block 6 circuit
    • Power Wire From Switch to Fuse Panel – 4 Gauge
    • Ground Wire From Engine to Fuse Panel – 4 Gauge
    • Wire From Fuse Panel/Pump Switches/Pumps – Ancor Marine 10 Gauge Duplex Wire
    • Below Water Line Adhesive – 3M 5200
    • Above Water Line Adhesive – Life Caulk

Newly installed Nautique strainer thru hulls. I added two to the port side behind my perfect pass and one to the starboard side behind the engine intake. I did this so it most resembled the current Nautique set up.

I went with black Fly High bags since all the grey ones I have had in the past start looking nasty after a few years.

This system works great and fills and empties plenty quick compared to the past. So far I love it! Boarding wake is great and SURFS UP!!!!

Thanks again to all those who helped me and Planet Nautique for being such a great resource for Nautique owners!!

I just noticed that some information was cut off from some of the picture comments.

For pic P6250086.JPG. (mounted to 3/16" by 1" angle. I used all 1/4" stainless steel screws and washers.)

For pic P7020105.JPG (I ran the fill hoses from the pumps to the bags around the bow side of the divider support poles so I wouldn't have to modify the stock dividers.)

I also, wanted to say that I purchased my Jabsco pumps from Pumpbiz during the Planet Nautique group buy. I got a great price and they have been exceptional as far as customer service. They sent me rubber bumpers quickly with no hassle when I noticed they were missing. And this was months after purchase. They also quickly sent me a new impeller when one turned up defective and stripped out. Excellent company!

Nice install. My only question is about mounting the pumps upside down. No big deal, but changing the impellers is easier from the top.

Have fun, the surf will most definitely be UP!!

Nice install! I'm about to tackle the same project on my 2001 210. You didn't list the switches and I'm looking for some rocker switches with the labels?

The switches comes with the Jabscos. The labels are a DisasterRaft part.

Looks awesome! Great job. You might find flipping the pump over to be helpful, for service. You would then need to change the wiring so the impeller runs the opposite direction.

Sweet. You ought to be seriously proud of that. Love the details........

On the pumps being mounted that way, the instructions actually tell you to mount them that way. The pumps are water resistant not proof and having the hoses mount below the pumps you minimize the risk soaking them if one comes off.
