Agreed. I followed Jabsco's recommendation that the pumps should be mounted sidways or upside down to minimize the chances of the pumps being soaked with water. Those pumps are expensive and I don't want to have to replace them.

As for ease of getting to them. I already had to replace one defective impeller and it was a breeze. Still very easy to get to in the upside down position.

How did you plumb the line from the pump in the engine compartment to the ski locker? Also, where is your shut-off at the thru-hull?

Sorry for the delayed response. I have been travelling and doing motocross so I have been away from the forum for a while.

I ran the fill/empty hose to the ski locker along the stock hoses. On my 99 the fuel line, electrical, and steering cables all run up the middle of the boat under the floor board on the starboard side of center. Plenty of room and fit nicely. As for the shut off valves. All three intakes have ball valves. You can see the blue handles in the pictures.

On second glance, I saw the shut-offs. They were a bit hard to see because they are poking out from behind your hose.

Unfortuneatly, with a direct drive, your plumbing solution to the center bag won't work for me, but I may have my pump located closer to the locker anyway. Great thread, when I get closer to putting my system in I will be sure to ask questions about wiring.

I'm planning three pumps, v-drive sacks in the trunk and the rear seat sack in the locker as well.

Sorry. Didn't realize you were talking about a direct drive. I am sure you will enjoy the install once it's done. I don't know how I ever messed with manually filling bags.

I went with black Fly High bags since all the grey ones I have had in the past start looking nasty after a few years.

This system works great and fills and empties plenty quick compared to the past. So far I love it! Boarding wake is great and SURFS UP!!!!

is that a one way check valve on the vent line?

Do the stock systems come with check valves from the factory?

What year and model? My 00 air seems to have 5/8" vents and I assmue matching checks and hosing. I had planned to use 3/4" fittings and hose for the vents so I'm trying to figure out a solution...

99 SAN. They have a big 3/4" cast into the side. They are brass. I reused them as they still worked great.

If you are using 3 ballast puppies and adding an integrated bow sac in the mix, figure anywhere from $1100 - $1400. The stuff really adds up, especially if you do not cut corners by using brass Home Depot fittings instead of the better bronze fittings. Good marine wire ain't cheap either. Shop around and try not to pay more than $180 each or so for your ballast puppies. I would recommend Jason at wakemakers.com as he has been good to me, but there are other sources as well.
