    RE: SN 200

    Hate to keep referring back to this, but I just priced an '08 206 Limited with ZO, observers seat, hydrogate and trailer retailed at $59,xxx. I don't think the 200 is a big increase. It's just we are comparing a closed bow (196) to an open bow (200).

      I'm being told a $6100k increase for the closed bow and a $7k increase on the open bow compared to an 09 196. That's a pretty big difference.

          What does "retailed" mean? ...MSRP? ... Boat show asking price? ....done deal?

            That's a good question but based on what the promo's I looked at were selling for one would assume it's suggested list or MSRP, and not what anybody would really pay. When boat shopping I asked 3 different promo guys what their boats would sell for new and the numbers given were all around 10% more than what they were asking for their boats.

            NADA's suggested list on a:
            2009 206SE is $3,805.00 higher than the 196SE;
            2009 206LE is $3,356.00 higher than the 196LE.

            If the $7k increase referenced by 2gofaster is correct, the 200 will retail for about $3,600.00 more than the 206. Obviously options like trailer, etc. would determine price but assuming the options pricing would be about the same on either model, price should adjust accordingly.

            This discussion takes me back to my "Correct Craft's Marketing Strategy???" thread. With most all other consumer items like cars etc., prospective buyers can spend a little time on the internet and get a really good feel for what competitive pricing is. It took me almost a month of shopping to get to a point where I thought I knew enough not to get upside down, and while there's probably a good reason, I'm still interested in why this is.

            My guess is you will be able to buy a non-loaded 200 in the high $40's. Somebody start a poll. :grin:

              MSRP. The previous post mentioned the possible MSRP of the 200 being in the 50s. The 206 already had an MSRP in the 50s. I know the 200 will be expensive, but my point is that you have to be careful comparing a 200 open bow to a 196 closed bow.

                  lol, ya'll are missing the point. I doubt anyone pays MSRP. However, it is a good reference point when comparing different boats. It is difficult to use what people actually pay since every deal is different.

                  My point is that yes the 200 is expensive and a decent increase over the previous boats. However, you cannot compare an open bow 200 to a closed bow 196. If you compare a 200 open bow to a 206, you will get a more realistic comparison on the price increase.

                  Those of us that are trying to sell our 196's will have to dig deep to get a 200, but it should be easier to sell in the long run since it is an open bow. Hopefully, it will open the market up a bit.
