    Newer Nautiques?

    Hey Folks,
Wondering if anyone can answer this question for me??
I'm looking at purchasing a new Nautique 2002-2008, depending on price etc...
But a buddy told me that the quality of finishing in the Nautiques newer than 2005 were not as good?

    Thoughts??

My friends 2005 is pretty sweet!

The build quality is actually getting better because of better tooling and CAD designed hulls. The 2005 is a sweet boat but the 2010 will win hands down model for model in quality of materials and build quality. You can argue for hours on hull design and wakes, but the quality is getting better.

60 hours on my 08 210 only issue was a bad ballast pump 1st time out. The new ones are as good if not better than the old ones. Buy without fear.

Thanks Guy's, new it couldn't be true. Every Nautique I've driven and skied has been wicked!

I disagree. The layup quality on every 211 I ever seen including my own is deplorable. There are bumps, flat spots, high spots and low spots all over these boats. I would expect this is why they stopped making black decks? The deck under my tower feed cracked three times before they finally added glass to adequately support the tower. All the cutouts made behind the storage areas and accessory panels look like monkeys cut them. I could see evidence of repairs made to my deck before I took delivery of the boat. There is even a patch made in the vinyl that I didn't make, it was either done before I took delivery of the boat or while it was up at West Coast Correct Craft getting the tower cracks repaired. My 2005 takes on water, nobody seems to be able to determine where. I have had minor electrical and minor plumbing issues as well. CAD engineering cannot make up for poor workmanship.

The quality of my 1995 Ski Nautique was far superior to my 2005. I hate to admit it but my friends M/C's and Bu's seem to be equal quality to the current boats. I am not convinced the new factory is producing superior boats.

              Mike,

Check the build date on your boat as it had to have been built on a friday before a holiday.
