    Rubber pad durability

I went to our local dealership and walked away concerned over the durability of the rubber pads used on the swim platform, walkthru and other spots on the 09 boats. The pads appeared to be oxidized like old rubber and the pours of the pads appeared to be accepting stains and were deteriorating.

I was at first under the impression we had stumbled into a back repair lot instead of the dealership because of the run-down nature of the surroundings but was infomed we were looking at the new boats they had on display outside. One of the boats had about 50 hours of demo time on it and the others were new.

The rest of the boats interior looked new/normal but I am concered about how these pads are holding up for others. I would expect years before a product looked like that and not months. Experience?

I have am 07 236 that is 2 years o;d last month. Mine seems hard but has not began to crack or fade as of yet. I have yet to see any stains and I have kids drinking juice and eating chips and fruit back there.

I have an '05 SANTE and my boat spends a lot of time in the hot AZ sun. I have not had any issues with cracking or staining. It's not slick either.

I have often thought that the BU swim platform looks better than a Nautique's (non-teak), but then the rest of the boat sits in front of it so there is zero comparison.

Yeah, I wish teak was available for the swim platform material. Would take bumps easier.

05 here. The black pads on my platform have no issues.

I guess any vinyl/rubber cleaners and preservatives will make the pads slick as ice?
