    Surf Ballast help

We have taken a liking to surfing more and more and want to get a larger wake, I plan to add some v drive sacs. Would I need to add weight to the bow as well??Its a 2008 210. I notice fly high makes a complete kit for the Nautique is this the way to go??

I have a 08 210 I just added the fly high V drive sac set [400 lbs ea] in the rear lockers .We can surf either side with only two peeps on board. Make sure you get the quick connects . The new sacs are connected to the vent hoses of the rear tanks all is controlled by the drivers controls. Fill 1/2 to 3/4 in the stock front tank and fill up whatever side you want and you are good to go.

Do you then connect a vent line from the sac to existing vent on the boat then?

Yes cut the vent line coming out of the rear hard tanks in the center of the hose. You will have plenty of hose to connect from the hard tank to the bottom of the new sac. Then connect the other side of the hose to the top of the new sac. It will then vent out the side of the boat. If you ever want to remove the sacs you can just splice the vent hose back together.

I actually went to www.bigwakebigfun.com and gave the guys a call and told me too buy the v dirve sacs, bow sac and a surf sac to throw on the seat! The surf sac was 1000lbs! Thats alot of weight! I would love to see the wave from that set up! But for now I just ordered v drive sacs and bow sac and go from there! Hopefully its plenty big enough!

I thought I read in another post there is a way to put in the extra sacs on top of the factory ballast without any cutting. Anyone with this knowledge care to chime in on just exactly how to do this? I would just like the option of returning my boat back to "original" condition.

I never heard of a true piggy-back install without cutting. The system that NautiqueHunter explaned is not that difficult. If you use the correct quick connects, you can easily reattach the stock vent line and remove the sac. The average person would never notice the modification with the sacs removed.

Do a search, there are some minor complications to a piggy-back install that need to be addressed.

I modified both sides. I use one wedge sac and I can move it to the side that we want to surf.

fat sac has instructions for installing the rear v drive sacs as well as the intergrated bow sac. Go to their website and send them an email. For some reason they do not have the nautique installation instructions on thier support site, but they do have one. I used it for my installation about a year ago. I posted about it on a forum. It was easy and works great.

The only way to install the bags without tying in the original ballast system is by adding its own filling and draining system. This modification only requires one cut in the vent line if you ever wanted to change it back just splice the vent hose. The splice will be under the rear deck you cannot see it unless you get in the rear compartment and look up. Or just replace the vent hose either way the fix is not seen by any potential buyer.

http://www.fatsac.com/FlyHigh/FlyHighSacs.html shows a diagram for a piggy back system (need to scroll down the page near the bottom).

Previous posts here explain how to set it up. Search for Noti_Dad AND ballast, he showed photos and a diagram.

                          750s in a 2008 SAN 210

Hey I recently bought the flyhigh wedge sacks and realize I should of gotten the v-drive sacks instead because they are heavier even though at the time I ordered the wedge sacks they said they were 400lbs also and on many sites still say that! Turns out they are only 280each(per wakemakers site) but who freaking knows? Anyway has anyone just went ahead and used the 750's in the locker and not pulled the hard tanks? I would much rather leave the hard tanks in I think.

                            Surf wake setup

I just purchased a Enzo sac for port side and a bow sac to be plumbed in. I have researched this and found that if you want a system so that you dont have to fill with a manual pump this is the ultimate way to go. I will install this weekend and post some pics. Just my 2 cents.

I would look at the 750 pound sacks and remove your hard ballast. I did this to my driver side on my 211 and could not be happier. When the bags are not full I have so much more room. On the other side I took out the tank and added the 400 pound sack. I will need weight in the walk over but it works great.
