    Rankin cover

This is my first season with a model year 2001 SN. It came with a snap on boat cover that has velcro flaps for the 4 pop up cleats. I am using mooring whips to hold the boat at my dock using the 2 dock side cleats, so the velcro flaps in the cover work out perfectly. I only use a cover at this dock and the boat is almost never trailered.

I"ve read good things about Rankin covers but have 2 questions:

    1. Are Rankin covers available with velcro flaps at the cleat locations? I've looked at their website and don't see any photos showing flaps.

    2. When a Rankin cover wears out, what goes on the cover? I was wondering if the cover material around the drawstring wears out first since I assume that the drawstring is sliding within a cover sleeve. How long can I expect a Rankin cover to last?

    RE: Rankin cover

I have a Rankin cover and really like it because I trailer a lot. I do believe they can add "cutouts" or something similar for your cleats so that you can tie up to them while the cover is on. I've had mine for 2 years now and it shows no signs of wear...the only thing I've done is washed it and re-waterproofed it once.

I also have a Rankin cover that I use for trailering and while parked at my dock; and like thedude, after two years it shows no signs of wear - still fits like a glove.

When I ordered mine I ordered some extra fabric. Then after I put it on the boat and let it stretch out, I marked where the cleats were and took it to an upolstery shop to have them make the cutouts and the flaps to go over them - they look like they were made at the factory.

Thank you both for your responses. The photos of the Rankin cover with the cutouts was just what I was looking for.

          Rankin cover

We have a "07" sn 206 with a local made cover and have not been happy with it from the begining so I have been looking for other covers. I have looked at Rankin but cant seem to find any pictures of how it straps on and if it covers the platform. We don't have a tower and the boat either sits on the trailer or the hoist with a canopy so it has to be easy to put on with one person and be able to trailer with it on. My current cover has left rub marks on the gel coat that I cant get out ( not happy ). Any pictures of a Rankin cover on a 206 would be helpfull. Thanks Michael
