SV 211 Replacement Carpet

Correct, CC used a different carpet manufacturer for several years with a black rubber backing that degrades fairly quickly. Corinithian Marine supplied CC for a few years, so there are some later model ('08 and '09's) with Corinthian Marine's vinyl ribbed Aqualoc backing.

I had mine replaced by CC over the winter on my 05 SV211. It was covered under warrenty and they used the better thicker carpet. The carpets were shipped up from CC so I asume they are the one's from Corinithian Marine.

Cost to me $0.00, that's the CC 5 year no BS warrenty. Thanks CC.

It's easy to tell if those carpets came from us--Do they have a black rubber backing or a grey ribbed vinly backing? If it's the black rubber, then they are definitely not from us.

Did they tell you they used the better thicker carpet? If they did you might get actual weights of the carpet because I think they are telling you what you want to hear. What is the weight of the two carpets?

I don't rely on what I hear, I rely on what I see. The carpets are twice as thick then the old one's were. They were sent without the snaps being installed and my CC dealer had to buy a different heavier tool to put the snaps in with as the one he had been useing for years to reinstall snaps would not work on the thicker carpets.

Not sure, I will have to look tonight when I get home. I lift the carpet every time I put the plug in so I should know but I would rather check tonight before I say something wrong. Ither way, I got them for free.

An 80oz carpet would be twice as thick but it would have to be custom made because as far as I know no one makes a carpet that thick. I believe 40oz singles is about as heavy as is made. There may be a few custom application but not very common. Your new carpet is probably a 40oz singles plus or minus a few oz. Hopefully you have a different back than the black.

Other boat manufactures use lighter. My 1998 Malibu came standard with 20oz and you could upgrade to 22oz. Not much of a difference but they charged $500. Cost them about $5 for the difference in material.

I change carpet to the Corinthian graphite. I think is a little lighter around 36 oz but it also has a loop mixed in with singles that may make it perform better. It may also be a problem because it is white and may show dirt. I replaced mine because I did not like the black back. It would hold water forever. Poor design. I had not had any snap problems and I kept and will use it when we go to lakes with red mud (Lake Trinity). I hope you like your new carpet.

I used twice as thick as my perception. Not really twice as thick, it does have the grey ribbed vinly backing as I checked this weekend. It is a lot nicer then what came on my 05.

I just really didn't understand why everyone was replaceing their own carpets when they had a five year no BS warrentty.

My corinthian carpet is now 8 years old and still looks great. I went with a dark blue with black binding around the edges, matches my interior perfectly.

Cost $1745 installed at my house. Came out and templated and returned to install. couldn't be happier.
