    New Tower FCT4

    Found this thread on wakeworld.com
    http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/m...tml?1250748860

I am not sure if I like the new tower. I do like the dash board. I know the boat and the options that I want. I am just unsure of the tower. What is the main difference between the FCT1 and the FCT2? The FCT3 tower is also nice. The only problem, to me, is that there is no place to put a mirror. I do not like the idea of putting a mirror on the windshield.

Can everybody post pictures of their boats with the towers they have. It's getting pretty close to purchasing the boat and I need to finalize the tower. The only bad thing and I mean the only bad thing, for me, is that there isn't a Certified Tech to work on the PCM motor, if there was a problem. The closest dealership is 4.5 hrs away from me.

Notice my mirror is bungee corded to the z5 rack. Does it work perfect - no. Can you see if a rider falls - yes. Good enough for me? Yup.

I loved my old 230, but I would have no tower other than the FCT3. Even with the extra 75lbs of speakers and the z5 it doen't shake or rattle at all. I'm sold.

That is a fantastic point. I have the FCT1 and there is definitely rattle to it.

When the FCT3 came out, I wasn't sold on it. I thought it was funky. But as time has gone on and I've seen it on a lot more boats, it's grown on me. Plus, to be able to get the Z5 with it is a great option.

The FCT3 will by my tower of choice on my next boat...which will be next season.

                Dudes,

I think the FCT-4 combines good traits of FCT-1 and 2. It breaks in the middle like a Titan, but is made of aluminum and is actually less expensive than the standard FCT-3. You can option a Z5 on it and make it any color from the Nautique gel pallet (except flake). Tower mount mirror bracket can also be used.

Below are some shots of the FCT-4 on a '10 226, '10 230 and the same 230 with a Z5 copied off the www.teamnautique.com/videos Shaun Murray spotlight.

Love the option of different functional towers.

If I was going to have a tower like that, I'd stick with the FCT1 unless I needed it to fold lower.

Here are several pics that I have when I was trying to decide on my 08 210 and then some pics after I got it.

If you do lean towards the FCT2, ask a lot of questions about availability. I'm not sure how much longer that tower version will be in the line-up. Titan is pretty unresponsive these days...

PS - Note to self. In the future post pictures in reverse order of how you want them displayed...

It looks much like the Titan "FCT2". I do like that it follows the windshield lines better than the Titan, but it may cause obstructions in view or talking with a down rider. If it will come with color choices that will be nice as well.

On another note, and it may just be the angle, but the pic with the Z5 rack makes the rack look as if it sits a little to far forward covering more towards the front of the boat than the back. I haven't watched the video yet to see if there are better angles so I may be mistaken.

That is the original tower and is referred to as 1st gen FCT. Then there is the 2nd gen FCT, which was the first to fold down (forward). One of those is pictured above behind the boat that the guy picked up from a dealer. Then you go to FCT1, FCT2, FCT3 and now FCT4. Yes, it is confusing.

To be clear on what the FCT# definitions should be if the # matches the chronological order:
FCT1 is what came on 98-99 Air Nautique and 99 Super Air Nautique and is above in 99SS01a.jpg or http://www.correctcraftfan.com/refer...ex.asp?page=17.
FCT2 is what came on 2000-2005 Air and Super Air Nautiques
FCT3 is what came on 2004 210 for 1 year, and is still on the 211 with the curved lower bars.
                            FCT4 is what came on the 2006 220, 2006 210, and 2007 - present 210.
                            It starts to get confusing now because now we have multiple towers from Titan, etc. But if I skip the short lived Titan offering and stay with the chronological order theme;
FCT5 is what came on the 2007 236 (Now the 230)
FCT6 is the one that mounts behind the windshield like the Malibu Illusion.
FCT7 is the new tower on the 216 and 226.
