Which WakeSurf board? Thruster? Razr? Koan?

I'm new to wakesurfing and have an sv211 with plenty of ballasts (750+750 in corner). I've ridden a CWB Tsunami and Ride. They're fine and all, but I grew up surfing and need a board more like a surfboard. I can see me learning 360s etc in time. I'm down to the Razr, Thruster, and Koan.

    I've got two questions:

    1. Any thoughts on those boards/
    2. Do you suggest filling either my center ballast or bow ballasts when loading a corner to wakesurf?

    Thanks guys

i have a shred stixx and it is just like a real surf board. its a styrofoam center thick surf board that uses "future fins." its super light and it rides on top of the water unlike the CWB RIDE thats more of a wakeboard constructed surfer that rides in the water and is very heavy.

paleotm: Recently I improved our surf wake by placing a sac in the bow which really lengthened the sweet spot. Check out Inland Surfer boards.

From what the SV211 guys have said, and you should do a search on this, I think they fill the belly halfway, plus some bow weight. Overloading the rear weight makes the wake tall and short. You will only be able to ride in one spot.

I have a Shred Stixx Thresher Shredder for sale: nearly new. Would be a great starter surfboard with the floaty characterstics that Airhuck mentioned.
Don't know anything about the boards you tried. We still use the original LandLock to teach people, but the newer ones are way different than mine. Thicker, longer, almost too easy to ride.

I would agree with the Inland Surfer recommendation, we can surf either side on our 99 Pro Air (direct drive) on a IS Red Tide and can free ride no problems.

With a driver, spotter and a rider we did this: 350 on the port walk-thru, a 370 under the port bench, a 350 on the port bow seat (center cushion helps there). This gives an amazing shape. Gradually add ballast to the port/stbd and belly tanks. Less is needed if more peeps.

The Inland Surfer website provides demo videos of their products. I have a Blue Lake Quad and a Black Pearl for the wife. A friend of mine has the Black Pearl Yellow and it is an awesome skim style board -- but I need a bit more float. Since you are a surfer, you should check out the Swallow, the Sweet Spot as well.
