Maybe I am just a little slanted after using Buxton's for the last several years.
Probably so. But isn't that the point? One shouldn't be "spoiled" by great service. Great service is what should be expected and delivered. Anything less seems to becoming "the American way".
Great service is almost not available at any cost. For many organizations, it doesn't matter how much you offer to pay them, they're not going to get it right.
Well, I got the boat back from Scott at Husrt Harbor on Thursday morning and took the boat out today and all seems to be well. They had to pull the transmission to replace the front and rear selas along with a couple of others while they were in there. In the end, it was $590 - 4hrs labor and $195 for the seal kit (this seems to be the going price for the kit, the lowest I found on the internet was $185). I know boat stiff is expensive, but $195 for few seals and gaskets is ridiculous!
Overall it was a bit of a drive out to Hurst Harbor but I felt pretty comfortable with Scott. He seemed to be good and was not trying to oversell me on additional service.
Also, I know the low lake level is probably hruting them out there, so if you guys need service, I am sure they will appreciate the business and have a quick turnaround. Thanks for the help!
