PlanetNautique Site Redesign - Your Ideas Wanted

As some of you know, I am planning to redesign PN using a different software set. The plan is to complete the transition over the next couple of months, and go live with the new site sometime in October or November.

If you have any feature requests or ideas on how this site can be improved, please post them here. I will try to include as many of your requests as possible in the new site.

Site is very good as-is, but some ideas are: Boats for sale searchable by model number and year. "Lineage" section to discuss model year changes and improvements. More current reviews.

Jeff, only thing I can think of is making easier to upload pics. Especially more than one. But, it could be just me. Just sayin'!!

I agree. Mobile friendly.

Also, allow the context of the PM flow through the email notification. That way we don't have to go through the website to see what was sent. Mainly for mobile phone ease.

Other than that, I'm not too picky. I appreciate your work Jeff.

1) Please keep the "new posts" feature. I'd be lost without it.
2) I'd like to be able to search all forums at the same time.

1. agree. I've also enjoyed the search last 1 day feature. (sometimes newposts blows up)
2. That feature is there already...please keep. (i've also used google with +sitelanetnautique.com) Often works better.

6. Better PM - would be nice if PMs looked like a private post with history.

Classifieds and Show us your Nautique are a mess but I don't have any suggestions for improvement... Possibly categorize by hull?

Example, looking for all 206s. Some thread titles are not specific to hull, "My new toy" "Our baby" ... Message body might say something like '07 instead of 2007. Maybe I just don't search well enough or better yet, those who create the threads should make them obvious to what's inside...

Everything else is pretty awesome, the PM context in the notification email would be nice but not totally necessary.

Adding "tags" will make finding similiar posts easy. Check out this site (http://project529.com/blog/about/) the tags are on the bottom left of the page.

How about a button to open in all new posts in separate, maximized window?

That is what I do now. I basically shift-click all the links and let them load, then come back to them and maximize/read.

A separate section for types of engines, and troubleshooting. Put a "sticky" post at the top of each engine group, with FAQ's, and a link to downloadable engine manual.
I use Firefox for a browser. It already does spell check. I am not quite as a good speller as I appear.

Anything to cut down on the number of repeated posts / questions. I wouldn't mind seeing more sub-forums so people can be more specific with their questions and searches.
