    RE: Re: RE: tow

I've got an '07 tacoma (4.0L 236 hp / 266 ft-lb / 6500 lb trailer rating) pulling my 196. Just returned from 1000 miles of pulling through the mountains. No problem and averaged 14 mpg. Boat & Trailer combo probably weighed close to 4000 lb with gear. Tugged up the hills and stopped at the bottoms just fine.....and was able to keep up with the big boys. The new tacos have 5-speed autos and so pulling in 4th gear works well....70mph at 2800 RPM...right on the peak of the torque curve.

Any older tacoma ('04 and older) will be a smaller vehicle (less power / torque / stopping ability) and would be leery of pulling anything more than 4000 lbs. unless you are just going across town. Also, the tacoma (in any year) will have softer rear suspensions. Think about adding super springs to the rear...!

    my $0.02
    Peace..

To answer your shower question, think hose. It's a hose with a shower head that uses the warm water from the engine. It's useful to warm up a cold wetsuit, but most people don't bother. Living in FLA you'll probably never use it.
