    210 versus a new 216V

We started with a 196, but wakeboarding became the biggest activity. So we upgraded to a 2005 216, love it, but now we are wakeboarding and surfing and both are huge fun, we almost never waterski anymore. So I am thinking about upgrading to either a 210 (2008 or newer) or the new 216V.

If the primary use is wakeboarding, surfing and the particularly fun tubing, what would the best choice be? The new 226 looks interesting but it's starting to get too big and heavy for regular towing (we go houseboating ever year).

Interior room is important to us, we like to do some "entertaining" on the boat and the 2005 216 does not handle that situation very well.

So what does the Planet think?

The only reason to get a crossover is if you want to ski. If you are not going to ski and want the best wakeboard and wakesurf boat get a 210 or 230, 230 for entertaining over the 210.

I own a 08 210 it not only is a great wake board and surf boat but it isn't bad for recreational skiing.

The only reason the go 216V would be if slalom is much of a concern. Since it isn't, go 210.

          210. at 32mph good salom wake. at 34 mph better. it will do all you want it to.

Thats what I have been told as well thats why I have decided on getting a 210 over 216V. And since no one here is going to ski the course or pull a ski touranment so 210 is better fit for me.

My understanding is that the 216v isn't much of a ski wake anyway so more than likely you wouldn't take it on the course.

Am I hearing that the 210 may have a better ski wake at 34mph than the 216V?

Thanks for all the input. Seems the consensus is the 210. Is the fundamental difference the hull? Seems the size and shape of the boats is otherwise pretty similar. I actually like the setup of the 210 better, but am wondering what makes the 210 a great wakeboard boat and the 216V a crossover (other then marketing...).

one difference to note: The walkthru's are great. I can't imagine not having it on my 211. You don't know until you have one.

Unweighted/all things being equal, the slalom wakes are comparable if we're talking about the 'new' 210 vs 216v.

We get by on our 206...but a walkthru would be great. I would say mandatory on a vee drive.
