Sad Day in Correct Craft history

It is hard to see why Correct Craft would let a dealer like New England Correct Craft go
I have been dealing with New England Correct Craft for 4 years
We baught a SV211 in 2005 from them and love the boat
They have treated us like a pernter more then just a shop
Craig was great to deal with when buying the boat
Fred is just simply the best in sevicing the boat and all the people there are just great to deal with
It is so hard to find a great dealer
Any problems are fixed right away and right the first time
All I can say is what a serprise and WOW what is Correct Craft Thinking
This is a sad day in Correct Craft Histery to loose a dealer like New England Correct Craft

The sad day was when the Meloon family lost controlling interest in the company.

No one should miss their role in adding costs through distribution centers though. CC had to go DTD (direct to dealer). And hey, they've dumped better dealers before.

Yes there are always two sides to every story. I for one would rather them take the appropriate action to be here another 80+ years. If that means losing some good dealers along the way then so be it. It sucks for me too as I lost SWCC just a few miles from my house. I could get any part needed for my boat in a matter of 30 minutes or less. Now it takes a week, but I can still get it .

I bought my Ski nautique from Craig. I have dealt with and worked at marinas most of my life. NECC was a great place to do business with and I will be sorry to see them no longer be a CC dealer. I for one wish them well.

I think the sad thing is the breadth of knowledge that has left Correct Craft in the last year or so. I am all about reducing costs, but there was a great depth of brain power between Midwest, SECC, NECC, and West Coast. These mechanics etc knew so much about the boats coming out of the factory and in some cases knew how to make the boats function better.

And the legacy. That is what saddens me. Times change, I get that. The rich history, knowledge, teamwork and people are what I consider to be the biggest loss. Business is business, I guess, but a great story has slowly wound down, and CC at this point is really just another company in the industry. Not trying to be sappy, or anything. It is what it is.

ffmedic74 you are so correct in what you say
Corect Craft is just becoming one more boat maker rather then something specail like they have been
To get another dealer just to improve bottom line is ok but at what cost to us who buy the boats
To loose NECC in the end will be a big lose for Correct Craft

WOW! I'm sorry to hear that NECC has been dropped as a CC dealer. I purchased my used boat from Craig, and I really enjoyed dealing with him. He is very knowledgable and quite willing to help on the phone, just a great guy with whom to do business.

The New Dealer Macallums sold Nautiques for many years up until around 2000 and are an excellent operation. I'm not sure the reasons for the change but hopefully both can do well in the future.

Just another company? Just another boat maker? I dont see where you are coming from. 20 years ago unless you were a die hard skier CC had nothing to offer. Even 10 years ago SC,BU and MC were killing CC on sales. Today CC has a line that not only competes but is recognized as the leader in the industry. Quality, features and reliably are second to none. I recently replaced my 89 Supra. I checked out all the brands in the area and when I started really looking at them the CC was light years ahead. I feel bad when any good dealer goes out. But dont tell me the boats built today have lost anything. CC/Nautique is still at the top of their game in building the best ski and wake boats in the world. I have deep respect for the past history and take pride in the currant line.

How are you getting parts in a week? Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

We (our dealer) ordered my new tabbed rudder nearly a month a go and it still hasn't been shipped to them last I checked.
