No. One of the previous owners neutralized it and rather than grinding the other side to get it loaded again, I decided to go with something I could fine tune. Plus, I figure there's someone out there who will buy my old one even if it is neutralized. So I can probably make up the difference a bit. From what I've seen, used rudders that haven't been "stumped" are not exactly the easiest things to locate outside of people parting out boats.
Not worried about the wait. It's not like I wanted to be without the boat at this point in the season anyway. But I, too, remember it being a lot shorter when they'd pick up those parts from SWCC on the way to the shop.
Funny question! I was actually nhcrossfan a few years ago but couldn't get my password and kept gettting the the same "cookie error" and couldn't retireve my password to my old id to my email address. I probably had over a 100 posts before and after 2006 when I purchased the 206 ski. I occasionally felt like contributing but didn't want to delete all my cache and lose passwords to other sites.
And the legacy. That is what saddens me. Times change, I get that. The rich history, knowledge, teamwork and people are what I consider to be the biggest loss. Business is business, I guess, but a great story has slowly wound down, and CC at this point is really just another company in the industry. Not trying to be sappy, or anything. It is what it is.
Agreed.
From a customers perspective:
I have bought two boats from NECC in the last 5 years. Nothing but good things to say about them. I have not had many issues with my 210,but the issues I had were dealt with quickly and painlessly. Always. As of late,it seems as though the heritage is fading away. Almost as though the factory is trying to 'erase it's past'. From the promotion of the "Nautique" name away from "Correct Craft" and the closing of the regional distribution centers (which I believe were all founded by members of the family/close friends) a huge wealth of knowledge and history is passing on. Yes, there are people( I know some myself) that have not had the same experiences there as I have, and that's to be expected in any business. I'm sure MacCallums has had it's share of happy and upset customers as well . We will never really know why corporate has made these decisions, so we can all have our speculations I guess.
From a personal standpoint:
I consider the guys at NECC( and Gina Too!) to be more like friends than just some place I go get my boat fixed. Fortunately, I will still be able to take my boat there for service, hang out , and learn more about the history of the company from someone who is a decendent of the man who started it all, while enjoying a frosty beverage after hours. I will still be able to pick up my boat or parts when they're closed " and pay them later" . I will still be able to get great advice , great service, and a great deal on parts and accessories. Unfortunately, what I can no longer get is a new Correct Craft / Nautique boat. If at some point in the future I should find myself in the market for a new boat, as long as the Warners are in business it will come from them. As far as I'm concerned I bought my last new Correct Craft in 2005. I'm not sure if anyone in Orlando really cares . I do know that since I purchased my boat I have NEVER recieved anything from the factory after the initial purchase survey asking my opinion of my dealer or my boat, good bad or otherwise. I 'd bet that MacCallums is a fine place to do business and I wish them all the luck, but my loyalty lies with the people that have always taken care of me. I wish Craig, Gina and Fred the best moving foward to the future.
Sorry for the long rant, but I actually knew about this for awhile and couldn't say anything . If someone in Orlando is reading this be on the lookout for my letter of discontent. ....It will be there shortly :x
I think we can all grasp the concept of the "regional distribution centers" no longer being needed, but why are they stripped of selling the brand?
NECC sold Correct Crafts, no longer a CC dealer
SECC sold Correct Crafts, no longer a CC dealer
Funny that in both cases ^^ another dealer picked up the line in the area...
Did MWCC also sell new CC boats?
WCCC looks like it was just a distribution/service center.
SWCC the same?

SWCC wasn't always distribution. It used to be a retail outlet on I-20 pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Retail end opened up around 2006 or so in nearby Tyler and SWCC became distribution/wholesale.
The guys who ran the retail and service side of SWCC are the ones who got the local dealership. They split it up because they new the warehouse was going to close soon.
