    Trailer wheels & tires

Want to go to either 17" or 18" wheels and tires on dual axel DHM trailer. Has the usual 205x75x14 on chrome sawblade wheels. Have looked endlessly for wheels, want a 5, 6 or 7 spoke chrome and am considering a 225x50x17 tire, pobably a Toyo Proxes 4 or ST. Found a 17" Ninja Star that is close. If 18" would need to drop to a 45 series tire. Trailer about 100 miles a year. Wheel needs to be a 5 on 4.5 with a 4 1/2 " backspace and at least a 2.75" center bore, have a little room here so maybe a 4 3/4 backspace would work.

Has anyone gone to this combo or a similar type wheel you could suggest. If anyone has anything, can you please post pics, have looked at KMC and Helo but not quite the wheel. I want something similar in appearance to the TSW Montage but these will not work. Cost is not really a problem.

    Thanks

    RE: Trailer wheels & tires

I still have my stock Sawblade whee;ls and tires. I would love one of your old ones for a spare if you get your new ones. Let me know.

I would call Owen at www.boatmatetrailers.com. He'll know what backspacing, etc that you need. He can get you a set of 18 wheels and tires for a smokin deal. I just put rockstars on my rig!

does anyone have a direct number for Owen at Boatmate? I sent an email via their website about a month ago and didn't hear anything back.

Or is it just the number listed on the front page of the website?

            Thanks in advance.

                    Foose Wheels

Went with Foose Legends - 17 x 7 w/ 225 x 50 x 17 Federal Tires. Will post a couple of pics maybe tomorrow but fit is nice, may have been able to go with a 55 series tire but 50 leaves some cushion. Package was $1600 for anyone interested. Tried some 17 x 8 wheels but the 8's were too wide without doing some modifications to the inner wood/carpet fender liner. Slight mod needed for the 7's but minor.

Looks great! Here in SoCal I would be worried someone would jack the wheels/tires while I was in the water.
