    Too many hours?

Found an 04 226 with the ZR6 motor with 430 hours. Should I be concerned with the number of hours? Thanks

430 is not a lot of hours. More important was whether or not routine maintenance was performed on the boat. Oil changes at 50 hours, etc.?
Do a compression test, maybe an oil analysis. If those are good 430 hours would not keep me from purchasing the boat.

That's only averaging 70 hours per year. That's nothing. If it's maintained, she's all good.

Its better for an engine to be run periodically then to sit for long periods of time. I have over 2223 hours on my boat.

All about maintenance and where stored (covered/indoors/outdoors). I saw a 211 last year with less than 100 hours that broke my heart. Obviously had spent lots of time sitting in the water. Ring of brown around the waterline. Rats had nested in the upholstery and the list went on. 500 hours on a well maintained Nautique is nothing...

These boats will go well over 2000 hours with proper maintenance. I average 120 a year. If I took delivery in '04 I'd have over 700 by now.

            Maintenance is far more important.
