What makes a good boat dealer, sales or service

This year I bought my first new boat. Boat came from Cincy Land N Sea Marina. There were a few bumps in the road and some odd (factory sent wrong ballast wiring harness to dealer 2x and wrong tach 1x) issues.

Engine ran for me only for 1 hour initially then quit (Faulty EFI 'chip' modual).

Nautique has moved new boat sales to Dayton/new dealer for now...but wanted to post the positive. Land N Sea has some of the most awesome mechanic/techs/gelcoat/fiberglass repair guys around. They made right each issue that arose and the owner acutally cares about providing service and helping my boat be what it should be. They are PCM and Nautique certified for warranty work and repair. Bring all your repair work there! 8-)

As we've seen in the last couple years, sales can drop off and if you don't have the service you're finished.

It's all important. Especially in times like these. I will concede that a great service dept. is a huge asset in making a sale. I also know plenty of people who will choose a brand based on the service dept.

I bought mine based on the dealership, not the brand. Luckily they sold the best boat too!
