    transmission slipping??

Not sure how to diagnose exactly what is wrong here....

on ym 89 Sport, from time to time there seems to be a bit of a "jump" coming out of the hole, like the prop doesn't quite catch and start pushing the boat the exact moment the throttle is engaged. Almost like it hesitates a bit.

Also, I noticed last week that every once in a while it felt like the engine was working pretty hard at low speeds. Jsut didn't quite sound right.

I've got a great repair guy, but it's a bit of a pain totake it to him, so if it's something simple or nothing at all, I'd rather not make the drive.

Any ideas? Hopefully I described it well enough.

    RE: transmission slipping??

Change the fluid recently? Or check it? Fluid should be dexron III if it is pink, if it clear, I believe 20W. Double check your manual for this. My 90 SN had 20W in it.
for what it is worth, if Dexron, I have read to NOT use the high mileage stuff.
