Yes I have ST! Part of the reason is that part's from vendors are slow coming. Jeff said windshields are a big issue, coupled with the orders they have for presold 200's.

Like I stated, Jeff is having a difficult time getting a 200 for the showroom, and he's only a few minutes from the factory.

A ski boat pushes the bow down , to flatten out the wake. This increases the wetted surface on the boat, and slows it down.
If I put a 550 pound fat sac in my Ski Nautique, behind the motor, the top speed actually goes up. Like I said, top speed on a boat is about 80% hull design, and 20% motor.

Behindpropellsrs: OK I'll bite, what is the picture? If I had to guess I would say it is the front of the 200. From the videos it looks like there must be a big reverse chine to knock the spray down the way it does right at the nose. I haven't seen the bottom yet, but I would envision the nose to look like that to get the result it gets.

Yet if I put a couple hundred pounds in the front of my boat it actually goes faster. What gives? And the only way the nose drops is if there is hook in the hull (which I guess depending on how you use the Hydrogate there could be).

Where did you get the 80/20 figure from? None of the hull design software uses that as a ROT. Unless you are designing a tug boat.

OK, the 80/20 figure is just a wild guess. The point I am trying to make using the figure is that hull design is way more important that the motor, if you are designing a boat for top speed alone. Sure, you can stuff a big block V-8 into a ski boat, and tweak it a lot, but there is still a very good possibility a bass boat with a 200 HP outboard will be able to run away from you and hide.
Honestly, designing a ski boat is way above my head.

Ok, my turn to chime in. Just got back from WL and had a discussion with David. He ran the boat and had no problem doing 45, had the 343 hp engine (smallest they offer).

Overall I like the boat. Definitely next generation. I don't think the saddle storage is big enough for a ski (long enough, just not wide without smashing the boot). I like the center placed fuel fill, the steps off the platform into the boat, and the new platform. I imagine they might get water coming in on abrupt slow downs, though. Did a lot on my Gekko with a similar ramp-like shape.

If it actually gets 45 (GPS confirmed) ,that's a new ballgame.

What about fuel economy with the engine running at higher rpms?

not GPS confirmed, just asked him how fast he's had it and he said at least 45...he wasn't really looking for it at the time, just testing the waters!

wtrskii3156 mentioned and 2gofaster confirmed the 200 runs 4000 rpm at 34 mph.
To go 45 mph the boat is going to have to pick up 11 mph with 800-900 rpm. Can't see that happening.
